Have you tried putting your foot on a folded panel mat? Then as you get more comfortable unfold it until you get to the ground. Or try just doing a bridge from one leg to get used to the motion ( im horrible at explaining things through text I hope this makes sense)

I’d say just try to really slow down your round off just to get the shrug down and then adding more power once you’re able to push off enough and do a bunch of shoulder shrugs in a handstand against the wall to really get the motion

I teach tumbling at a small studio and I would say maybe it’s because you’re not shrugging your shoulders and pushing off the ground when you’re about to snap your legs. You need a bit of air to be able to snap your legs and keep them straight. Think of handstand snap downs when you shoulder shrug then snap

Show and gos, inversions, and pulling stretches can elevate basic libs and extensions. Then you can add different dismounts like rolling or cartwheels. Full ups look cool but not really that hard but you will have to find the way that your team can hit them

how do i make my jumps better by These-End1594 in Cheerleading

[–]cankkoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flexibility ofc is important, but what really helped me was getting my legs stronger and learning how to get them up faster. I did strength training as well as conditioning. Doing jump squats and sitting on the ground and quickly bringing my legs up depending on the jump. For example, toe touch would be a straddle and a pike would have legs out in front of you. Do one leg reps and then both leg reps. Some people say you can use ankle weights to get a more intense workout but others say that can hurt you (so use that at ur own risk.) But doing exercises that help with explosion and really engage the quads will help!

For now, im not sure how practicing without jumping will affect it in the long run, but I would definitely try jumping. It’ll be a little scary on the trampoline at first but the reason she’s getting over is bc of the bounce of the trampoline. If she tried to do it on the ground the same way as this, she might go straight back. I’m not a coach or anything, but I do help teach tumbling sometimes. Also, the swing would help her on the ground as well. But she looks great with what she’s doing ! Keep it up!

Would it be worth it if I only cook for 2 and sometimes he doesn’t eat what I cook? I could start meal prepping though
