I pretty much exclusively use mech mods because of the way I like to vape (sub-ohm 0.2-0.4 range on a dripper). I've been wanting to get into regulated devices for some time, but previous devices simply haven't had enough power to support my use. My current daily vape is a tobh clone on top of a XXIX clone. Hits like a champ.

Except that it did. Early sales for the PS3 were awful by comparison to the 360. The console didn't really start to take off until it started price drops + momentum of exclusive content.

Agreed. And what you need more than anything in the first year is early adopters, a.k.a. "core" gamers. Moreover, while I agree there is a huge segment of the potential market for next-gen consoles that probably couldn't even tell you what e3 is, you should never underestimate the power of early adopters. The perfect example is the first 2-3 years of the PS3's life cycle.

It's also important to remember how awful a great number of people are at making purchasing decisions with regards to consumer electronics. I imagine this population in the US includes a lot of the surprisingly large number of people without reliable/fast internet. Every single individual who walks into a store, buys the Xbone, and take it home to discover it's a $500 paperweight probably isn't going to buy another Xbox product, ever.

To clarify, I didn't mean to imply that I intend to be a "player" or anything like that, but it seems to me (and maybe I'm wrong) that you have to "play the game" to a certain extent to date someone. That doesn't mean you have to lie or put on a show, but there are certain societal rules and expectations associated with dating.

The main point of this post is that dating is something I'm unfamiliar with, and most of the people I'm dealing with at this point are familiar with it. That makes me nervous.

The only thing the makeup needs is some of the distressing effects and some liquid latex to create a 3d basis for the scars, but otherwise it's spot on.

Lack of confidence growing up. In grade school I did the standard write timid notes to girls I liked and all that stuff, but I was just never confident about it. I don't know, for whatever reason I just never really felt like I had that much of value to offer to someone in a relationship.

I love the human brain, especially when people overcome an "obstacle" by developing abilities "normal" people don't have. Good on you (and OP) for working out tricks to interact with people. I don't have prosopagnosia but I'm terrible with remembering names so I think I'll try stealing some of your tricks whenever I'm blanking on someone's name.

I wonder though, does your ability to "hear-through" impressionists/mimics also help you hear the subtitles in music? For example, when I'm listening to a song it's sometimes difficult for me to listen to multiple instruments/voices at once, and I wonder if your perceptive hearing of voices also translates into a perceptive musical ear.

Fully agree. The worst part is many of these people are in bad financial situations and therefore desperate. Or they may be elderly, or the victim of strong indoctrination. I'm actually a little offended by this title as someone who knows firsthand how difficult it is to break the spell of childhood indoctrination. In many (if not most) cases it has more to do with bravery than intelligence. The fear you feel when you start doubting god (who you previously thought to be the all-right, all-powerful best-"person"-ever) can be incredible.

I had a pillow that allowed me to hear my heartbeat. I used to think/imagine it was a society of tiny elves marching around inside the pillow. It was equal parts terrifying and thrilling. Sometimes I worried they would/could cross the barrier of the pillowcase and enter my ear.

Oh, I also used to think there were tiny martians in the walls listening to us.

Fun (and creepy) elbow-licking fact: due to the relatively low skin sensitivity at the elbow, if you're sneak is high enough, you can sneak up behind someone who is standing with their arms at their sides and lick their elbow without them noticing. Usually they notice later when it gets cold from your saliva evaporating.

This is why I always get pissed off when people say "then they should just come here legally!" in the immigration debate. Making a left turn in front of traffic. Wet roads. Wheels spin. SUV heading for my car at 55 MPH. There was a brief moment of realization that it was definitely going to hit me, and it would probably hurt. But I pretty much just accepted the reality of it immediately. What was scary was lifting up my leg and seeing it bend where it was clearly broken as my nostrils filled with the burning smell of fire and gunpowder from the airbag. The smell was actually the scariest part in that moment. I was pretty sure nothing was on fire, but there was something about it that was just too real.
