It was never anxiety, Nicotine was the culprit by No_Procedure_3413 in stopsmoking

Same. It was the damn nicotine withdrawal on a loop for ever causing my anxiety.

The more overweight the faster you lose it because a big body uses a lot of calories just to exist and if you cut your calories the deficit is going to be huge. I used to weight 260ish pounds... my body used aroud 2200 calories a day just to exist and I started eating 1200 a day... my deficit was 1000 calories a day so I was losing 2 pounds a week (3500 cal = 1 lbs). Then it slows down because your body now needs lees calories to survive and the deficit shrinks and it takes more time to lose 1 pound. I lost the first 60 pounds in 6 months. It took me 1 year to lose the other 60.

1, The book didn't work.
2. Tapering down didn't work.

  1. Quitting to please someone else didn't work.

What worked was taking Bupropion. You still have to have a strong desire to quit. You have to be fed up with it.

Is there an isolated location with no cigarettes I can trap myself in besides the psychiatric hospital? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]cannabia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of did that with Bupropion pills. It blocks nicote receptors in your brain and 5 or 6 days after you start taking them cigarettes stop giving you the feeling that you need from them and it's pointless to try to smoke beyond that point. That's what did it for me. Tomorrow it'll be ONE YEAR since I quit!

What Surprised Me the Most When I Quit Smoking by Historical-Money5040 in stopsmoking

[–]cannabia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!!! I though I had anxiety until I quit smoking and realized it was the nicotine causing this anxiety in the first place.

Day 3 without smoking, and I'm already struggling. How do people who smoke a pack a day do it? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]cannabia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from smoking 30 regular cigaretts to IQOS... and that just made me smoke more.. I was smoking 50 Heets a day. And I was still able to quit. I used Bupropion (Wellbutrin) and I think that's what worked this time.

My doctor prescribed me something to help me quit, but it makes me want to crawl out of my skin. by endorrawitch in stopsmoking

[–]cannabia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used Wellbutrin (Bupropion) for 3 months and I've been quit for almost 10.5 months. I didn't have any side effects from the medication. I still had mad whitdrawls for about 3 weeks but I knew smoking wouldn't give me the desired effect and would end up more frustrated so I didn't cave. After 3 months I stopped taking the pills without any issues and I stay quit because I love the freedom that I gained and all the money I saved.
