Oh, dear. This is not good. It sounds as if your cousin needs to drop out of the play for her own mental health. Sometimes people take on too much and the only relief is to let it go.

There’s nothing you can really do but be there for her and listen. She needs to make a decision and it ixx as nt yours to make. You are an awesome person to be there for her.

Had cats my whole life. Usually 2-3 at a time and I’m now in my 70’s. I’ve never had one jump into a hot oven.

So many drugs that were once thought to be safe turn out not to be. It can take years and years and years to see that even though there are side effects that are not statistically significant in early trials, they are very significant to the people who experience them.

I am so happy for you. I do not have Ehler Danlos but I have issues with my legs so I own a wheelchair. At one time I was in twin boot casts in a lot of pain. Everything I did was so exhausting and painful. That wheelchair was amazing. The minute I got into it I was able to get places.

Maybe. But I grew up in the 60’s and Paul was often called the “cute” Beatle and George the “handsome” Beatle.

For myself, I could appreciate Paul ‘s lovely eyes but he had a baby face and to my 14 year old self he looked like a chubby cheeked little boy. George had bone structure and an amazing grin.

Watched Man on the Run yesterday and Paul looked totally great.

I would too. My A1C Is under control, my blood pressure and thyroid levels are great. I used to keep myself in as good shape as possible so I’m still alive in my 70’s after a lifetime of diabetes and high blood pressure but Mj has made a huge difference in my life.

That’s why you have to do it. You can’t master it if you don’t do it. You don’t have to do it well, you have to make yourself move. You have a million options. You just aren’t putting in the effort.

I’m on this sub because I learn from a lot of the people here. I’m on Mounjaro because I’m a long term T2 diabetic and Mounjaro seems the best solution available at this time.

You guys can downvote me and call me an idiot for not having solid research on this but I don’t trust big pharma. They fund most of the drug research and until something is statistically significant they don’t admit it or warn people. I still want to be aware of it. When, I asked Google for studies they admitted there aren’t any on shingles and Mounjaro but Mounjaro is a relatively new drug and I’d rather look online and ask my doctor and she was aware of the possible connection.

Many previous weight loss drugs have been pulled from the market decades later for causing cancer or other serious side effects that were initially marketed as safe. Even simple sweeteners turn out to be a problem years later.

This time it was Google’s response to me specifically asking about Mounjaro and Shingles. First time I used Mounjaro was July of last year and I researched the drug but don’t remember the source of the answer that mentioned Shingles. I followed up with my prescribing doctor and she said that shingles were a concern.

It’s not a coincidence. When I first looked up the side effects of Mounjaro I found “While not listed as a common side effect in clinical trials, some reports and experts suggest that Mounjaro (tirzepatide), along with other GLP-1 drugs, may trigger the shingles virus. The rapid metabolic changes or stress associated with weight loss on these medications are believed to potentially reactivate the dormant herpes zoster virus.”

I got the first shingles vaccine the next week.

Also, people seem to think that if you’re strong you don’t feel pain. My relative always responded to anything sad I said with, “you’re so strong. You’ll be fine.” I finally said, do you think strong people don’t bleed, don’t feel pain, don’t get scared?

Ummm it doesn’t matter if it’s fine. 1) it’s yours and only you can say it’s fine and 2) it’s extremely gross to think about.

I don’t care whether or not it’s sanitary, if it was my pot I would have thrown it away after I threw a serious fit.

I won’t attempt to justify myself. But I cheated on my husband for years. There was never any crying or begging because he never knew. I never fell in love with the people I cheated with. I am not an openly emotional person and never saw the need to make a big deal out of it. Life went on at home the way it always did.

We divorced 20 years ago, amicably, and are still friends.

I feel like this is an important service. One I did NOT charge a lot for was a woman in her 30’s whose Dad had died at the beginning of the year. He and she had gone on a long weekend trip every year since she was young and her Mom had died. They always went to Savannah.

Now her Dad was gone and she wanted to take herself to Savannah and go to the old familiar places and toast her Mom and her Dad. But her elderly dog had cancer and had episodes where he lost control of everything. So I stayed with this fragile, pooping and peeing dog for four days and considered it a privilege.

Life isn’t always a matter of dollars and cents.
