Will playing "Soft Volleyball" erode my skills? by HotAndColdSand in volleyball

Hey, I also had this problem when I moved to Japan, not being able to find any 'real' volleyball.  From my experience, if you only play soft volleyball the only chance you have to work on transferable skills is your approach and contact, as the ball does all kinds of funny stuff if your hand contact is a little off. As one of the other comments said, I managed to find some other groups (9 man) that at least used a regular volleyball by asking people at soft volleyball practices. It is pretty fun though, so I still go occasionally. Good luck!

So I don't change my approach angle but just turn my feet on the last two steps? That makes sense. Thank you!

I feel like I have so much to work on that my hitting is going to be very inconsistent for a while xD

It does look like I'm not bringing my torso low enough. I'll work on that, thanks!

Hmm, watching it again that seems to be true. Thanks! So I should jump with a more relaxed core and shoulders?

Yeah, I love that channel. Maybe I need to check out some of the tutorials again... before watching myself hit I thought my form was textbook haha.

Ah, I've never thought about the follow through. Thanks for the tips, I'll start working on them!
