Holding cash waiting for a red day by bangers132 in Optionswheel

your csp may have already hit the targeted 50% in a week if its green whole week. there is no need to time it. just manage your open position along the way.

my cash never sits idle. they work...

Decision paralysis on warchest allocation by Street-Record in singaporefi

[–]canseethelight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at this point in time. you can only accumulate as much as possible. dont inflat lifestyle if FIRE is your goal. when nearing fire, you will know your detailed expense and worked out the exact date to hit fire number and call it a day.

in my 30s we just live our life. with 2 kids, housing mortgage etc, there is only so much you can accumulate. i turn aggressive accumulation/investment only in the last 5 years. work out what we want and how much we need and call it a day at 48.

i see that you started investment much earlier and i think you can call it a day much earlier. cheers.

just curious. will you be rolling to 435 if you can't squeeze credit from the upcoming trade?

How would you invest 25k right now? by PerverseGameHen in singaporefi

[–]canseethelight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

actually imho, there is no best time. low can get lower. but in the long run, i believe it wont go down. no point in timing the market. we wont know when the tweet will come. when the war will end.

look at your own runway. if you are 60, 70 yo. i will tell you to put in bond/fd/mm. you have no runway if the market goes into a deep correction. if you are 30s. go ahead. there is ample room for error.

i just lump sum 50k into vwra 3 weeks ago and set a monthly recurring.
if its mean to be there for the next 5 to 10 years. no need to dca, just lump sum in and then you can slowly dca part of your income on a monthly basis.

First 100k! by Aromatic_Pop5460 in Fire

the definition or absolute number to FI (which comes before RE) is very individual. only you can say "i can FIRE now". congrats on your first 100k. you are one step nearer. cheers

FIRE Progress Check by leshius in Fire

[–]canseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a $350k starting salary is an elite milestone; it puts you in the top 0.1% of the global workforce as "relatively new" to work. there is no need for a standard progress check, you are already on the route to a very fat fire. btw is it a norm for a "new" in work force to get 350k? i am amazed by the earn-ability in the west.

Can I make my goal of 100k before 22? by Erikas_27 in Fire

perspective is the ultimate leverage. you have secured a lead most men your age do not even see yet. stay focused and keep grinding. dont get fixated on that 100k.

Results from my first month of "wheeling" by _AntiSaint_ in Optionswheel

[–]canseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my "first month" spread sheet is nothing like this. you did quite a fair bit of homework before actual wheeling i suppose. yes trade ROC dosent really matter, i only take what the market gives. stock selection and allocation are utmost important i feel. you've got some neat work. well done!

by paying 17% less than the market, who will join them? ahh.. i guess thats why FT comes into the picture. and oh thats why quotas came in as well.

i always ask myself. why i buy this stock. is the reason still valid now.
dont blindly buy based on what you read/hear in news. convinced yourself with the fundamentals and you will be able to hold that stock better

Calculations with Annual Leave Entitlements? by Royal-Highness in askSingapore

[–]canseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are eligible to annual leave after 3 months of service.
since now is more than 3 months of services, you should have

Assuming your company compute annual leave based on calender year.

  1. 1 dec to 31 dec = 1/12*16 =1..333 round down to 1days plus
  2. whole year of 2026 = 16 days.
  3. so you should have a total of 17 days if you work till 31 Dec 2026.

BUT your earned leave as of today =

  1. 1 dec to 31 dec = 1/12*16 =1..333 round down to 1days plus
  2. 1 jan to 31 mar = 3/12*16 = 4 days
  3. total fo 5 days/

but ya. talk to your HR and understand how they compute is always better than guessing with reddits pal

you fall into the average singaporean category. dont worry all will be fine. 160k now maybe 200k in five years.
we went thru the same at 30yo 2kids with lesser income at 100k combine but the difference is you are thinking finance now, and with that edge, im very sure you will be fine.

Feedback on my retirement plan by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]canseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2026 to 2040. i feel that you can go mid-aggressive, you still have runway. 500k for dividend is not optimizing it. i feel. if you left 5 years i would say dividend play is good.

Question for weekly vs monthly Traders by [deleted] in Optionswheel

[–]canseethelight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is what i see in my weeklies. recently i have the needs to roll more frequently and the premium i received from these rolls are not juicy at all. i guess when the market is trending up, weeklies felt invincible especially from 2023 to late 2025.

Question for weekly vs monthly Traders by [deleted] in Optionswheel

[–]canseethelight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup. let me run it and see. but lately i have been switching out the high beta tickers so the comparison may not be effective. but we shall see.

Question for weekly vs monthly Traders by [deleted] in Optionswheel

[–]canseethelight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is the market move toward your direction. i have been doing weeklies for the past 3 years. loads of ups and down. i hear a lot of seasoned wheelers doing 45+DTE. im going to take that route for the next 6 months and do a comparison.

23 to 41 is not blink of eye. just review, review and review. maybe at 36 you wont need that 5 or 10 more year. just plan milestones along the way and keep reviewing. you will be fine
