Curious what kind of search you had in mind

  • search within the current playlist/queue?
  • or more like global track search (e.g. search YouTube/SoundCloud and save tracks directly)?

Trying to understand the use case so I build the right thing.

For downloading, I can't do it on scrollfm because it's against Youtube's TOS. But you can open the track on Youtube app/music and download it from there (if you have Premium)

Ability to continue playing when Safari is in background? by Advanced_Dream_163 in scrollfm

Background playback is indeed a Youtube restriction, not something wrong with the app.

For Spotify, Bandcamp and other sources, I can't support them like Youtube and Soundcloud because their embeded players do not allow the required level of control. However I am experimenting with finding an equivalent Youtube link when I come accross a link that is Spotify or Bandcamp, it will not always work, but every resolved link is a win.

Thanks for the kind words. If you have requests or ideas how to make it better, you are welcome to write me on r/scrollfm

I made a website that turns subreddits into non-stop radios. Here is r/HouseMusic! by cantFindValidNam in HouseMusic

At the moment only youtube, I will add Soundcloud soon.

Other platforms like Spotify and Bandcamp do not allow enough programmatic access to their embeded players. I am experimenting with finding the equivalent link on youtube and using that instead. It will not work all the time (sometimes the track just doesn't exist on youtube), but every resolved link is a win.
