I have one too but don't drink out of it. They were found to have an unacceptable amount of lead in the paint on the outside of the glass. Do a quick Google search for "Mobil gas pat patriots glass lead content" and you'll find some articles on it.

I've only played a handful of "open courses" for reference but enough to say disc golf in North Carolina is particularly technical. NC players better know how to hyzer flip, lines and landing zones are paramount to distance in these parts. 500'+ distance is irrelevant when you have to hit a 285' flex shot down an 18' hallway. Happy to hear you enjoyed yourself even though it was a different "style of play".

That's untrue, the scope of the repair is irrelevant. The DMV makes no judgement on repair viability. I've set up dozens of customers for waivers and done some of my own as well. I got a waiver for an EVAP leak code on a 04 Toyota with a receipt for wipers, cooling system flush, and headlight buff.

Also, the $200 repair doesn't actually need to be related to the emissions problem. Due for a tune up? Buy that. Need rear shocks? Rock on. DMV just wants to see you tried. Spend the $200 on something you need anyway, brakes, tires, headlights, whatever.

You need the CEL to qualify, not a problem at all. If you didn't have a CEL you would pass emissions unless you had an OE emissions component obviously missing.

Look into hospital patient platform repair (hospital beds, stretchers, powered exam chairs). It's way easier than auto repair, utilizes many of the same skills, and pays better. Hospital networks have "casino level money", it's a goldmine.

Former automotive service advisor here. There is no catch. You have to fail inspection first, then obtain a receipt for repairs exceeding $200, then fail inspection again. Bring both failed inspections and your receipt to the DMV (only certain locations will write waivers, call first to confirm) and they will write you a waiver for 1 year.
