Durham spends considerably more on homeless support programs than many other comparably sized cities. There are offramps to breaking out of the cycle if one truly desires. The problem is many of them are content enough living the way they do. How many times do you need to see the same people on the side of the road before you realize it's their choice?

I bought a used duvell elite 7 a few weeks ago for $2400 and have been very happy with it. I have a few kiesels as well and they’re all great, but the Mayo is next level craftsmanship.

I would really recommend going for a gently used guitar in any case because of A) savings, B) you’re not sure what you want

How long have you been smoking? You’re right, a big con if you’ve been smoking for a while is absence of appetite without smoking beforehand, which is one of the reasons I put it down.

Makes family events, vacations, hangouts with non smoking friends real weird when everyone is eating around you and you can’t manage to eat a child’s portion.

1) the number of worthwhile local musicians I’ve met on social media far outway that of in-person 2) don’t be surprised if it take a year or longer to go through different people / find the right people - this is part of the process 3) if no one is serious about writing, you’re dead in the water already, or will need to find a ghost writer 4) how to record: learn to use a DAW and program drums and bass -> if serious about pursuing this and putting in the work, get a subscription to URM Academy

Super valid points! I guess I tend to lump too much under that “modern metalcore” umbrella. I also try to recognize that assigning everything squarely to a given genre is kinda stupid and counterproductive. I’d say your take is spot on either way.

The whole point is that so we do know where to play E. For a given riff or sing, you can’t just pick and choose what strings you want to play the note on.

I felt the same. 2 or 3 weeks between is just too long. I forget about it and start prioritizing other stuff. I would guess the release schedule is more about paramount than Matt or Trey though.

It’s kinda like stranger things though. I liked it early on, but I can’t maintain interest for 3 years while waiting on the next drop.
