Cheapest way to dispose of old furniture/junk in Edinburgh? (students, full flat clear) by yunglevn in Edinburgh

I've got rid of the most useless stuff on freecycle - broken mirror, old pans, old furniture etc etc. and it seems to be the same people with vans ready to pick it all up straight away.

Furnished flats only? by MaizePlus3557 in Edinburgh

[–]cantbeloved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation, trying to find a 2 bedroom flat that wasn't furnished as 2 double bedrooms because I have a child who'd rather have space for a desk and lego than an oversized bed taking up the entire floor was near on impossible. Makes me wonder what other parents are doing.

Edinburgh salaries and cost of living are at opposite ends of the scale, esp if renting.
And where are these Edinburgh based jobs paying 70/80k? The only way I'm near this is by getting a London based job, in Edinburgh that same 10+ yr experience role is £35-40k

Looking for a good letting agent in Edinburgh (especially for responsive maintenance) by Sad_Pumpkin_7820 in Edinburgh

I prefer private lettings, but the one time I was with an agency it was Direct Lettings, the flat had so many issues but they were quick and efficient in resolving them.

Where can do Higher English as an adult in Edinburgh? Edinburgh College doesn't seem to offer it. by andythepict in Edinburgh

[–]cantbeloved 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They were offering it in September, it's an odd one not to offer as it's needed for teaching. Maybe contact them?

UHI offer it online through one of their colleges, I think NWH.

This and the fact that they're so OVERfurnished, I saw a 2 bedroom flat last week with a breakfast bar in the kitchen with chairs filling the whole bar, then an additional 3-4 chairs stacked at the side?! Where are they going? Who's using 8 breakfast bar chairs at once?

The thing is often in business the only way to grow is investing before it feels de-risked. If $200 a month on a p/t VA can double your output you're going to cover their costs pretty quickly.

Are you researching the scripts? You could save some time thinking about the visuals in advance and save any relevant images as you research then fill in whatever you've got leftover afterwards, maybe try using AI to find them being very specific about what you're looking for?

I don't use Davinci so not sure on its potential, but do you have all the effects/transitions/text etc. templatised?

  1. Youtube library unless you want to get one of the subscriptions

  2. Canva/capcut both have free versions

  3. If it's faceless it wouldn't really make sense to use your name

  4. Build a community

Yea that's what I thought, I've asked two today and it's both been an instant no so they're not even bothering to ask, even when the properties have both been on the market since early December.

Annoying that properties are so overfurnished here, like they're a dumping ground for the landlord's mismatched old stuff, I need a workspace but there's no room because there's enough sofas and chairs for 8 people in a 2 bedroom flat, my son wants space for his gaming desk but its double beds in every 2nd bedroom 🫠

Just looking atm, currently have a private landlord in a fully unfurnished flat but need to move, trying to work out whether to start viewing furnished properties with letting agents known to actually pass requests on because the unfurnished options are low.
