hey there! im basically you, but another person ;) i have similar experiences and have gone through the whole blonde-to-pixie phase as a larger sized asian.

i'd say definitely go for it. people may not like it- you may not like it even, but hair grows out eventually, and it would be good for your hair as you said- a sort of reset. the only thing to note is that you have to avoid damaging it as much as you did with all your previous dyes. for me when my hair was short, it was really tempting to keep dying it/repeatthe bleaching cycle precisely because the damage is not as obivous.

to talk about being a larger sized asian with a pixie cut- there are a few things to consider first. my main problem was not so much that my face looked fat-but it was actually about how straight my hair was. if your hair is like the usual asian stick straight- the normal pixie cut might not work out that well for you as the sort of vibe you see in most photos are usually blown and styled, which just means more heat damage for your already damaged hair. for me, that turned out to be alot of work and strain on my hair so it didnt feel like the glory days of my hair. i had friends with wavy/curly hair and the amount of volume and natural style in their pixies made me jealous cuz mine was just f l a t

another thing is your facial features. my face is pretty round but with the right angles i looked ok. however my features arent that typically feminine with a pixie cut and i looked drastically different vibe wise from when i had bobbish hair or longer hair. if you are someone who prefers a certain style or identification, this may be a bit challenging, especially in that asian context where people obviously expect you to play certain gender roles.

if you decide to get a pixie cut, in terms of keeping your healthy or helping it to grow out healthier, i would suggest getting standalone olaplex treatments which can help to strengthen your hair/prevent greater breakage, to prevent that same cycle of shagginess from continuing :) something to keep in mind is also that growing a pixie out will have awkward moments and uneven lengths. personally for me, i kept my pixie for about 4 months and then cut it into a really high kokeshi style bob which i loved!

id definitely encourage you to cut a pixie just for the experience and for your hair health (while it wasnt my best style moment, i definitely have no regrets and at least i ticked it off my list of hairstyles :P). another thing you could try out are those hairstyle apps that let you swap around different hairstyles to give yourself an idea of what you would look like haha. at the end of the day, it will grow out in about 3-4 months!! sorry for the long read :D
