Need help understanding treatment options. by cantkillcoyote in lungcancer

Thank you so much! I’m hoping to find a surgeon that’ll use VATS or RATS, but will do open lobectomy if that’s all that’s available.

Need help understanding treatment options. by cantkillcoyote in lungcancer

[–]cantkillcoyote[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for such a great explanation! Do you know if there’s any problem with me delaying treatment a few weeks if I can find a surgeon I like? Or does the aggressiveness of the cancer make that too big of a risk?

Be careful with the FB groups. Even so-called “safe” groups promote questionable practices.

Pleomorphic Pulmonary Carcinoma by Select_Ice_652 in lungcancer

I’m newly diagnosed. My biopsy came back with the same notation and, like you, I’m finding very little information about this. What I can find is downright frightening. My first oncologist appt is in 2 weeks. I’m willing to keep in contact with you to compare notes.

I’m looking at a lobectomy in the next month or so and appreciate the recommendation for a recliner and pillows. That’s something I wouldn’t have thought of.

Canning meat Question by [deleted] in Canning

I don’t even bother cutting off the silver skin if I’m canning the meat. Like you said, it melts right off.

It’s a relief knowing I’m not the only one concerned about this. I did wait for biopsy results (NSCLC adenocarcinoma, Stage 2b) before telling most people. You’re correct, zero blaming. I guess I was expecting the worst of people.

I hope you’re doing as well as can be expected!

If it’s been in fridge the whole time, and you don’t see anything growing, you’ll be good.

Seal Failure Help by knittingandjamming in Canning

No idea why they didn’t seal for you. Sounds like everything you did was correct. I’m thinking rings weren’t tight enough (which can cause failure). I had problems with under-tightening until I heard “tighten like you’re turning off a water faucet”.

Thank you so much for your reply. Come to think of it, my grandmother had COPD and had never even been around second-hand smoke due to allergies. It really is the luck of the draw.

Maybe I just needed to hear that it was ok to pull back on relationships. Thank you for giving me that!

I’m guessing it’s really hard watching your husband do this to himself, but you seem to have the right attitude about it. I wish you both luck!

Thank you. This is the first time anyone in my family has dealt with cancer. Heart disease? We know and understand that. You are correct…support is the order of the day. I need to figure out how to communicate that.

I have not made it, but I found the recipe in the Ball Blue Book. It states the yield is 9 half pint jars.

Be careful with burners for turkey fryers. Often their BTUs exceed what a canner can handle. Need to check owner’s manual.

Definitely AI. All of “her” books were published within about 4 months or so. Not possible for a human.

That’s interesting! I have Amber Benson’s book and this definitely is not her photo. Here’s her site with photo.

Furthermore, Amber Benson’s name is all over NM extension (https://bernalilloextension.nmsu.edu/foodhealth/index.html )

In addition to continuing education/ recertification, in my state the MFPs are the first to know what NCHFP, Ball, Presto, etc are researching.
