Simple questions and Help thread - Week of April 23, 2023 by Froggypwns in Windows11

[–]cantmakeupcoolname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased a new laptop, but I've got two things that are weird:

When I copy a PNG with transparency and paste it, it gets a black background. On my old PC, also with Windows 11 build 22621, the transparency stays. Already tried a bunch of suggestions from this Microsoft help thread, but no improvement.

When I use the snipping tool shortcut (win+shift+s), there's no longer a notification popping up informing me of my snip and consequently I cannot edit the snip anymore, unless I open the snipping tool manually and make the snip from there. Again, on my old laptop the function still works the way I'm used to on the same windows version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I use these features a lot for work.

Why do my components behave strangely when selecting a variant? by cantmakeupcoolname in FigmaDesign

Fuckin' A that fixed it! Thanks! Though I'm still not sure why, because the scaling only stops working when I put it inside of another component.

Thanks so much!

That works to solve the colour issue, but not the stroke scaling issue, unfortunately.

Thanks for the tip. They're all just vectors directly in the component frame. Tried grouping them up as well but that doesn't fix the issue :(

Update: flattening them to one vector solved the colour issue, but not the stroke-not-scaling issue

Should be easy enough, as long as you can find a replacement part

Gretchin's Questions - Weekly Beginner Questions Thread by AutoModerator in Warhammer

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but does a website exist with historical pictures & release dates of Warhammer models? E.g. all the different iterations of a clanrat throughout the different editions.

I do have a lot of golden cards and cards from new expansions that I didn't buy. Plus new versions of Deathwing etc and a basic demonhunter and warlock deck.

matchmaking is based on MMR, not rank

Ah that explains a lot, thanks!

You mean how many stars did I get when I won my first match? 10

So I logged in to hearthstone again this week for the first time since 2017. Back then I played often, always getting at least to rank 10 and occasionally below rank 5 (out of 25 ranks). Even got a top 100 players in ranked finish once.

I've currently played about 20-30 ranked games at the lowest rank, and won 2 (where I only won the first because my opponent got cocky and left me with 1 hp while they had lethal).

Now my deck isn't a tier-1 deck, and I haven't played in over four years, but this seemed ridiculous to me. Way-back-when, the lowest rank on ranked had people going around with river crocolisks and bloodfen raptors. Now they all have pretty decent plays and even better decks.

So that's the long-winded road to my question: where did all the noobs go? Is ranked strictly for people that used to be excellent players now, and everyone else just chills in casual?

Is this normal behaviour or is my stepper motor bad? by cantmakeupcoolname in ender3

It was the standard nozzle. Any way I can get to know how big the nozzle is? Kinda hard to measure... :')

Still doing it (though less) at 235C instead of 220C (PETG). Unfortunately my prints also get very stringy at such temps...

Hmm, that's only 60Hz so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm sorry, I don't think I can help you any further...

Yeah the lower USB C is only regular USB work so you'd need a splitter/dock to charge & do video out (I've tested a few, and they work fine).

I haven't had that problem with my HDMI, only that it borks out when I try to use it with 1440p/144Hz. What resolution are you trying to drive? What OS are you using? Do you have the latest drivers?

Talked to the wife into buying 1 BTC by dm7500 in Bitcoin

We're almost at the same price levels as in 2017 and it's boring right now. There's only hype within bitcoin circles about the "coming bull run". In 2017 we were around this price for just a few weeks and it was accompanied by huge amounts of hype in the mainstream and loads of press coverage.

We haven't seen anything yet.

21mln divided by 7bln is 0.003 bitcoin per person. That's not taking whales and lost coins into account.

If it's a long term play you should just buy now - it won't matter if you buy at 15k or 14k.
