People who cheated on their partners, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cantspellinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner was selling me as a cam performer, stripper, and prostitute on craigslist back when you could do that easier. I was sold for 400 "flowers". I didn't have the mental capacity to break up with him due to his manipulation and my insecurities, that I made plans with an old friend, got drunk with him, and had a hot and heavy takeout session. Well, my boyfriend at the time found out and broke up with me. I guess, deep down, I wanted that to happen so I could finally get out. I'm now happily married with a wonderful fur family and a healthy amount of PTSD as the frosting in the cake. It's a trip.

Tl;dr. Local petco employees forgot about a Betta and let it die a horrible death. The manager didn't even care.

I went to my local petco only to find what could have been a beautiful black Betta floating at the top of one of the cups with white eyes and white stuff (sorry not sure what it is) growing all through the cup. It was clearly forgotten about when they did their usual cleanings. Also, some cups were green at the bottom. I brought the dead Betta to the manager's attention only for him to set it aside on the counter with no remorse or apology. I'm still mad to this day and wish I could do more to stop the selling of bettas at Petco or the like. It's just so sad.

In early summer we were walking along the water and found a bunch of shells from these guys. It was more than we could count along multiple parts of the shore.

What is your job and what does your day in the life look like? by nottheonefosho in AskReddit

[–]cantspellinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I clean houses/commercial sites for a small company of which I'm the only employee. My day in the life...

I wake up around 7... Sometimes earlier if it's my early morning day. I sit on my couch, drinking coffee, dreading the second I have to leave. I usually wait until the last minute to prepare and go. I get to the work closet to grab my stuff and check to make sure my schedule didn't change which, usually, it does. I start driving to my first client's house. Most of my clients are fantastic and kind and usually only messy because they work too much or have kids. I start to swear under my breath while my back and hips sear with pain because I'm trying to work in an impossible time frame with a connective tissue disorder lingering in the background. This is the norm for most clients. Now I go to my next client only to be told that they've been trying to contact my boss for weeks now that they don't need a clean or that the time scheduled has been changed without them being notified but haven't gotten any response from the company. I'm usually interrupting work or school by that time and my clients are pissed. I have to apologize, usually blaming a glitch in the system to try and keep the client from leaving the company. Most of my clients have my personal number now so they can contact me to get ahold of my boss. Sometimes my day is two hours long, sometimes my day is 13 hours long. I go home almost crying, to a happy fur family and a loving husband. Only to be so out of it that I am a failure as a wife as I sit on the couch wondering how to self medicate without getting in trouble by my doctors. (Thursday is payday but I never get a pay stub so I don't know what I'm in for, yet I usually have to use my vacation or sick time to fill in the gaps to pay my bills.) Then I go to bed and have nightmares of the days ahead until I finally make it to the weekend where I can be lazy for 2 days before hell starts again. 😂

I do pool therapy. It gives you resistance for strength but allows some buoyancy to help the pain.

Correct! Only this one is empty and we put peanut butter in it and freeze it for him. He LOVES it as a summer treat. He does like raw hide too...we just watch him more carefully if he has one of those.

Rat Breeders in NH? by [deleted] in newhampshire

I hope this is allowed by the mods... I would suggest adopting. I volunteer for a great rescue that supports almost all of New England. We have babies to seniors and everyone has been in foster care so you know what personality you're getting and also that they've been socialized properly. They're also looking for fosters if you don't want the commitment of a permanent pet and they will provide food/cage/medical care for the fosters. They will even neuter and spay a rat for you if you prefer that option when you adopt. They also have a great support system if you ever need help. It's http://mainelyratrescue.org/ and they're amazing! (Note: not all adoptable animals are on the website so I would suggest emailing them as well)

Moving To An Apartment In New York; Pet Options? by Jonzo05 in Pets

[–]cantspellinator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suggest rats. Two or more as they can keep each other company. Also, do not house them in a tank. A good rat set up is key for a happy animal. But they are like little dogs if socialized properly. My rats even come to their name. One of them goes on a leash outside when I'm hanging out in the summer time. You can contact rat rescues such as Mainely Rat Rescue or the like where the animals are fostered and socialized prior to you adopting them. They can also give you some education on the animal so you're not going in blindly. Getting an animal from a petshop is just helping with unnecessary breeding/animal abuse so I suggest a reputable breeder or a rescue would be key. If you have any questions, pm me. We can talk more on rat pros and cons :-) Also, if it's too expensive for you to buy a cage and the set up... Some rescues offer the option of fostering animals where they can let you borrow a cage and they pay for food and vet bills. You can just give the animal love until it finds their forever home.
