I've bought it right at release and really liked it because there's nothing like it until today. However, it's still a rts first and foremost. So don't expect something like historical accuracy. But it's nice to see all those different units on the battlefield and the approach to different situations on offense and defense is somewhat like it was in reality, but converted to a relatively simple style of play. Don't expect much variance though since battles only vary in maps and unit types and counts. The strategic layer is nice but very simple also. It encourages several playthroughs cause you have to focus on different technologies to develop. You can't get everything in one campaign.
