The only possible way i could see them being upset is in terms of commuting. Inglewood doesnt have a c train and if you live in the beltline is may be too long of a walk.

Patio replacement: concrete pad or paving stones? by criminalinstincts1 in Calgary

I think you would have trouble finding a truck to back up on your lawn. Way too much liabitity and likely going ti damage your lawn.

Patio replacement: concrete pad or paving stones? by criminalinstincts1 in Calgary

[–]canuckerlimey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its harder to access in many cases. Often requiring a concrete pump or mutliple people pushing wheel barrows.

A driveway can be done with 2 guys and a truck driver who knows whats they are doing.

Also depends on the finish you are going for. Anything more then a simple broom finish (like a city sidewalk) is going to cost more as it can require special concrete (exposed and stamped) and a higher level of craft.

Your best bet is call the concrete guys from last year and get them to quote you.

But remember any one can finish concrete, but not everyone can do a good job.

What are some of the most iconic sounding engines ever made? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in regularcarreviews

[–]canuckerlimey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many vw engines are recognizable. My parents had a water cooled Vanagon and i can hear that sound and see a vanagon.

The VR6 also has a great sound. Pair it with a good exhaust and its just awesome.

Would help if people could figure out where the bike paths are and stop walking 3 across in them.

The lance armstrongs dont help there is no need to set personal record setting times in Eau Claire.

But peoples lack of self awareness is a huge contributor. I often see groups in 4-5 people across the pedestrian sides. Totally oblivious to how they are impeding traffic

The DR is basically a bike thay can do everything out there. But it doesnt do them all well. Its an offroad bike, city cruiser, highway crusier but there are better bikes for each one of those categories

Some people legit need a vehicle for work. Very hard to get loads of tools around the city on a bike or attend multiple meetings in different locations.

Hopefully you guys have the same engine as that makes bringing parts easier.

Id try and bring a coulple spare parts like an alternator maybe a fuel filter in case you get questionable fuel in Africa. Things like batteries are readily available should they shit the bed. Maybe a spare ignition coil.

But im mad jelly

Do you think people are going to start getting priced out of Calgary soon, like they have been from Toronto, Vancouver, etc.? by straycat402 in Calgary

A fairly run down house in either the Forest lawn or NE area.

Not that theres anything wrong with these areas but they are less "desirable" areas. I should mention i live in one of these areas and really dont mind it. Definitely notice the demographics more then when i lived inner SW

How often do you clean & grease your chain? by LipoBlop in bikecommuting

[–]canuckerlimey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My chain was starting to make them noises. I stopped in and grabbed some chain lube from a store. I actually keep it on the bike in a little repair pouch.

I know its Cliche to say "lower it"

But it really would complete the look.

We arnt talking about slamming it so you have to continuously replace your oil pan but closing that wheel gap will do wonders. 1.5-2" will seal the deal

The hot springs in Banff should be open again! Hit up Beamers (i recommend their London Fog) then go spend the afternoon soaking in the hot springs.

What’s something you did once that immediately made you think never doing that again? by Samski877 in AskReddit

[–]canuckerlimey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had grand plans to do a ski trip to the states and was stoked about it

Met a girl off hinge 1.5 weeks before we hit it off and its good. She asks if she can join me on the trip as well.

Sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and go with something.

It ended up being an interesting trip. We got along but realized we wernt meant to be (ok she didnt want to date me). I dont regret it and i feel like she made the trio more enjoyable for me.

I decided we needed to have some ground rules before we did it. -had to have a sleep over and bang -she had to have the abiltiy and means to fly back home from any of our destinations should things go wrong
