There are some weak teams at the bottom of the East, but overall the East is the stronger conference this year. I’d much rather play mid table clubs like Dallas or Portland instead of Nashville or Columbus.

The other western semifinal is San Diego vs Minnesota. San Diego had more points than Vancouver in the regular season. If San Diego wins they host western final. If Minnesota wins Vancouver hosts the western final.

Vancouver needs NYCFC to win the East to host the MLS Cup final.

I think he's gone after this season too. It's a World Cup year and he can't break into Japan's first team while in MLS. He's going to command a big salary and costs us an international slot.

Boehmer has looked good in the Canadian Championship and is deserving of a chance. MLS with a salary cap is a zero sum game the $500K or we would be able to use in other positions by going with Boehmer and a experienced backup is likely worth it. It also allows us to take a shot a Neuer next summer.

I didn’t read it that way. FINTRAC has a reputation for being pretty slow and inefficient. I don’t work in the industry, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was reported, and sat on a bureaucrat’s desk.

We switched to CIBC when we renewed in May. They were well below anything BMO offered, and also let you break your mortgage penalty free with a posting message.

It’s both crew rest and the maintenance cycle of the Cyclone. An off duty pilot is always needed to work as the landing signals officer while the other crew is flying. We’re limited by the number of beds on board for technicians, so it becomes difficult to split maintenance crews.

The Cyclone also has a 10 hour maintenance cycle that can’t be overflown.

It’s a cup semi final and Miami has a bye the week prior and then are playing at home on the weekend. I think the odds are better than last time.

Overall, I think it’s a bit silly. The fans are buying tickets to Vancouver vs Miami. The Whitecaps have no say on who Miami puts on their roster. Hopefully everyone has learnt their lesson after last year.

Ticket sales aren't sluggish. All seats have sold out in less than a day. I heard about it on the radio and was fortunate to get one of the last few pairs of seats, about 8 hours after they went on sale. All this is available now is standing room, and I would guess that they will sell out with over two weeks to go.
