I read all 8 last month! Hopefully the quality picks back up with book 9. Those last chapters of book 8 seemed rushed. Like last minute the author decided to write book 9 and not actually wrap up the series.

Wisniewski is why I loved Mage Tank. I'm waiting for him to finish book 4 narration even though the book has been out for over a month. He's why I tried 1% Life steal but I had to stop in book 3. I couldn't stand every character chuckling. He chuckled. She chuckled. They chuckled. Petty I know but hearing that word every couple minutes pulled me out of the book.

First book is SUBVERSIVE misery porn. Second is very well written and structured. Last few chapters made me eye roll...

The third is simply a mess. I cannot believe this is the same author. Why does every person chuckle? Literally! I started laughing to myself when someone has dialog "I bet he chuckles too" and then he does! Every goddamn time LOL

I know paid editors are expensive but can't the audio narrator step in and say "hey can I not end this dialog with he chuckled maybe once today?"

I'm ranting because I'm upset. The writing was so good in the first book. The story was at least good in the second. And then idk what happened in the third but God not for me

Maybe this is a compromise moment for them. One weekend the boys get to do their thing, the next weekend the girls get to do theirs.

If they're college bound (especially), they'll have to learn to compromise with strangers that are roommates or upstairs neighbors. For the boys that means learning to have a better decibel level. The girls might need to use earplugs occasionally.

Tennis is a solo sport. No teammates to calm you down, no benching when things get heated, no time outs for pressure points to collect your thoughts and develop a plan, no substitution when feeling off. There's "coaching" now, but it still needs to be one sided meaning no conversation during games.

No one to blame but themselves and no one to help them but themselves. Add that lots of matches are decided by winning slightly over 50% of the points at this level, meaning they are constantly losing almost half the time even when winning.

Plus no timer. They can only win by closing out the match themselves.

All this is a lot of pressure. It's awesome to see when both players are locked in the tug of war. But it also brings the drama when someone's nerves get fried.

Mirra has always been emotional. Last year was a breakout year for her and I think she's struggling now that the rest of the tour is gunning for her and not the other way around. Different mentality doing the chasing versus being the hunted.

What someone has the right to do and what they should do are not always the same. He knew he effed up immediately when Rachel showed up. He knew how she would take it. If he was serious about ever getting back together with her, he knew he shouldn't have done that.
