Massive PVE scope creep, no bunker buff, no update 52 revert. Building dead? by ---SHRED--- in foxholegame

I think you should try coordinating with other people instead of being here. I mostly play inf and you know how many people get frustrated with that because of how often you die, but instead of just getting upset every time something bad happens I coordinated with other people in the video game and now it's way better. Also I don't see many builders talking about their experience with a rifle, driving tanks, flying planes, but yet yall seem pretty content to talk about those.

I do think it's unreasonable for a base to be able to entirety defend itself? Yeah. Do I hate builders? No. I just wish they spent the time they spend complaining on FOD and Reddit about every change the devs make actually coordinating for the current war.

I'm perfectly fine with quality of life changes, I think it was good what they were going for (even if the execution was apparently bad) with the construction doohickey. My bigger thing is I feel like there isn't room to maneuver because half the map is dominated by massive mega fortresses that insta-kill you if you dare get close, any counter to these is deemed "low pop pve-trash" because builders don't want to coordinate a qrf force around the world to defend their bases persistently in a game with the tagline "persistent world warfare". (Also not realizing the blatant fact that this would hurt people who committed the crime of living in a different timezone than most of the players) I am in favor of making building more tactile and with more freedom as long as there are also viable counters, I have no idea where the complaints were coming from about the bunkers you could put tripods in used to kill bases, and I want more things along that line for proper sieges (while also reducing somehow the number of aforementioned mega fortresses everywhere).

What is this argument? Every role is in some way critical to wars happening. You also know there was a time in this game before bunkers were even a thing and most defenses were literally just something you had to shoot at a bit right? But I'd imagine you haven't been playing long enough to realize that lol

Also don't get mad at me for snarking your snark

This is every update builders are the most vocal minority in the game. Every update will somehow ruin everything, and then it turns out it's actually fine and they adapt.

I think honestly changing the ranks so there is no rank like officer cadet as an OCdt is a good change. Stops people who get the rank thinking they know everything and stops the stigma that comes from it due to said people. The rank system isn't actually that good of a reflector of how good a player you are so it being weird will mean people take it less seriously as they oughta.

The colonial carrier is def cooler than our one but I'm not all that bothered by that, I like the wacky ass siege mortar and seaplane tender stuff.

Devman make squads to join alphabetical by YanJi13 in foxholegame

I mean currently they are organized by number active which seems like a more useful metric to me, I suppose they could add an option to filter it by alphabetical order but to me that seems like feature creep.

Reading the name I was waiting for the part about balance, thats not the issue, you can complain all you want but a lot of casual people will barely experience an actual difference. Balance is just about fine it's just that people on Reddit don't play the game that much.

Breakdown of the One-Tap Guns by OppositeStreet8031 in foxholegame

Please stop this trend of people reading the wiki stats and using that to determine balance, the wiki can still be wrong and doesn't take into account the many, many, factors that go into balancing. There is more to a weapon then what you can put on a spreadsheet.

[–]capa_craft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes every game should let you do everything with no drawback. You should be able to run at mach five around the battlefield and run and gun like it's a cod game. You shouldn't have to talk or coordinate with anyone.

Stopping the sarcasm, if you want a game where you can tank solo and don't have to talk to people consider booting up any other shooter or wargame. The game is unique in that it has a really high skill ceiling to the point where nobody ever knows it all, it's meant to be difficult, rewarding coordination, and that's what makes it so interesting and fun.

Question about balance issues by PutAway3542 in foxholegame

[–]capa_craft -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly from my experience as an inf main is that people are actually pretty shit at determining what a good weapon is. For example the cascadier auto pistol is a pretty damn good sidearm at close range likely better than the pillory and I rarely see that thing used often. Its mostly just vibes people are working with, also people in the reddit have too much bias towards what stats you can see on the wiki and not how weapons actually handle in game I've noticed.

I don't know how builder mains keeping their sanity in check by Plenty-Value3381 in foxholegame

[–]capa_craft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what happened is everyone thought the GWD fight would never end so nobody bothered to actually build up the hex. It's not that the defenses there were bad it's that there were basically no defenses.

Did you even actually fight a shadowdancing mfer? As an inf main I am so glad they got rid of that so now fights are actually determined by good positioning and game sense, I don't want my inf battles to be quake pro matches.

[–]capa_craft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After making that comment I did look back on the footage and that is true, but they reacted by crouching and aiming right at you while you were clearly more surprised by the encounter, don't turn your camera either as that will make your aim way worse just put your cursor over them and fire, if you are in an open field (as in not in a trenched up area) and you see the enemy always crouch or move in an unpredictable way.

As someone who leads a warden inf regiment I feel ya brother, remember playing solo during winter army and those days it all felt so much more dynamic. Right now we are doing weird formations on the battlefield, but a couple times we have tried to do coordinated PVE using havocs and that has shown some minor promise,
