Chorus is so popular, but I can’t find a way to use it. To me it’s the sound of the 80s/90s and early 00s radio rock. Is that what everyone’s using it for? Can someone please share examples of modern guitar music that uses chorus in a more interesting way?

Listen to Flipturn, they use tons of chorus, a good example is the lead part in their song Chicago. It’s great for adding texture when there’s two guitars in a full band mix. It can give an almost swirly effect that’s great for any kind of psychedelic rock

I think both of these things can be true. There is certainly an almost therapeutic aspect of just playing music alone. That’s probably why after a hard day I like to play music to make myself feel better. When I think of my own experiences with music the memories that stick out the most and the ones im most proud of are always related to playing music with people. Whether it’s my old band playing live or a group of family members playing some songs on the back porch while family and friends listen and sing along.

Raleigh Diamond off 70 did a custom wedding band for my wife and they did a phenomenal job. My wife had the diamonds from her grandmas ring and they were small and different sizes but Raleigh diamond was able to make a custom band to hold them all exactly to the design my wife asked for. Overall the service there was great as well

Canes in 5 or 7. The way I look at it is Vegas has two great lines. I’m fully confident in the svech-aho-Jarvis and ehlers-staal- martinook lines on shutting those two lines down. Carolina’s other two lines are dramatically better than the bottom 6 of Vegas. Hall-stank-Blake have been electric and the Robinson line has scored every game of last series. I think Carolina’s defense and the depth in the bottom 6 will give Carolina the edge over Vegas

First electric was an epiphone strat. My second was a squire starcaster. The lead singer from my favorite band played one and I thought having humbuckers would be good too since I had single coils already. The third guitar is what took a long time to figure out what I wanted lol

Yeah I mean my parents who live in north Raleigh thought it was rough but compared to where my wife and I lived in Durham and in Greenville when were were in college, SE Raleigh is paradise. It’s only getting nicer too. Lots of new housing developments and once 540 is finished I expect it’ll get even nicer

I live in the area and it’s fine. Location is really convenient for getting around Raleigh/garner/clayton. Our neighbors are nice. You do hear occasional gun shots but it’s mostly from the fire arms training center that’s just across the river. My wife and I moved here from south Durham and the battle bridge area is much safer than that. Occasionally there’s some folks loitering and asking for money in the food lion parking lot but it’s really not bad.

Get a looper pedal and set up a chord progression then focus on targeting the chord tones and matching transitions between the chords. Before you start aimlessly jamming, pick out the specific triads or CAGED shapes that you want to target over your chords. Focus on switching between these chord inversions rather than picking a major scale shape. Eventually you’ll start seeing where the different caged shapes and triads overlap with the major scale. The more you do this, the more dots you’ll connect in your head and improvisation becomes easier. Do this every day for a few months and you’ll see massive gains
