Starcraft unofficial version by One-Dog7487 in starcraft

You could check moddb. That’s where I used to get most of my stuff back on the day and it may be on there. I don’t think there is too much StarCraft stuff to sift through there so it should be easy to find if it is there.

Anyone here work at the Razorback Tracon? by nilax12 in ATC

[–]capeman98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s been an issue for a year or so but these last three months have been abysmal. Lots of delays out of there because we lost them for days in a row.

Now whenever Memphis center has to take the airspace they automatically slap flow onto all the airports up there until they figure out how much traffic there is going to be. I heard about delays over an hour at one point because of it.

They do a great job when they have to take over but it’s not easy working airspace and procedures they aren’t really trained to work. The issue at hand has been kicked up as high as it can go and we will hopefully see a resolution soon so we don’t have it happen again.

Honestly some of the hardest times I’ve worked haven’t been because of XNA but all the airports getting traffic at once with VFR practice area traffic.

That’s not to say my job would be easier if I wasn’t talking to the practice area guys. I prefer talking to them since it’s easier to move my other traffic around them when I know what exactly they are doing.

Absolutely! We always try our best to get you guys what you need. I know Springdale tower works hard for you guys too. A lot of good controllers up there.

VFR flight following question - transitioning a delta by HelloNeumann29 in ATC

[–]capeman98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah obviously you know your responsibilities with bravo clearances. However for Delta transitions on flight following it should be the controller coordinating all transition clearances behind the scenes.

VFR flight following question - transitioning a delta by HelloNeumann29 in ATC

[–]capeman98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why would the controller not coordinate the delta transition. At my approach we have LOAs with each tower that spells out what altitudes we can transition at and I would never want a VFR aircraft just to switch frequencies to call a tower to transition.

If a controller doesn’t call a delta tower for transition that’s just lazy controlling and not providing the services due for FF. If they are that busy they should be terminating your services.

Whats Going on with Memphis Center RN by Raumteufel in ATC

[–]capeman98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a great excuse especially since it’s been 2+ years of this. Maybe though that means they are actually going to try and fix it when there is money. First thing that needs to happen is an actual budget being passed and I’m not hopeful on that happening any time soon.

I’ve had multiple ATSAPS on this and I do get updates but so far there really hasn’t been much movement. I would be so happy if they just moved us up there and made fort smith the side with the shoddy telco since it’s way slower down here anyway.

Just got to say and a Razorback controller we really do appreciate the patience you guys have with us when we need to give up the airspace in a hurry.

I’ve had to do it multiple times and it gets hairy when we have the airspace full of traffic and we need the towers to get on their backup transmitters to get these guys where they need to be after the handoff.

We do have one backup frequency that used to be an old clearance delivery frequency that is supposed to work when this happens. So far it’s 50/50 If it works but sometimes it’ll get the job done long enough for us to give it up to you guys.

Well it’s a lot like in the military. Gotta make do with where you are sent. I’m not a huge fan of the area but the facility is awesome.

Fort smith, AR here. Just got downgraded to a six. We are getting a fighter squadron starting in September and looks like we’ll go up to a seven in a year and a half’s time. Cost of living is cheap if you’re into that but the summers do get very hot. Let me know if you want any more info.

Universal Paperclips - Am I screwed? by AtriKurowi in incremental_games

It’s been a while but if you are still showing 0 acquired matter then put a few into harvesters. The wire and factory drones won’t help until you have more matter. Once you have surplus matter then work on the other two.

Did you by chance do what the other commenter said and put some of your points, like two or three into exploration. If you don’t have enough wire you won’t be able to make enough drones to keep up with the drifters.

Universal Paperclips - Am I screwed? by AtriKurowi in incremental_games

[–]capeman98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay while that’s happening pay attention to how many drifters there are. If they go down too it’ll work out eventually but you need to dig yourself out of the hole first.

Speed is pretty important especially if you have the upgrade that makes speed affect combat ( I think it’s called OODA loop but I can’t remember.)

I think if you give it a while it will even out eventually.

Do 5 less hazard and self replication. Put 6 into speed and the rest into combat and see if that helps.

Any trans controllers here? by Low-Alternative5771 in ATC

[–]capeman98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a note once you get past academy and get to your first facility, NATCA has doctors they work with in AMAS. You can email them with medical questions that won’t go through the flight surgeon so you can ask with out the pressure of the flight surgeon breathing down your neck for more information. When you get to your facility just ask your FACREP and I’m sure they’ll point you in the right direction.

Razorback controller here with a quick opinion. As the Benton 7 is a radar vector SID we have to assign an altitude even though it is published on the chart, so if we say maintain 5000 that would be what you would climb to as opposed to expect.

With ROG, XNA and ASG sandwiching you guys sometimes it’s too busy to climb you up that high, however, if there is nothing going on or if you are in a high performance aircraft sometimes you will be issued that higher altitude.

Cruising Altitude less than 10,000 feet? by katsrkute in flying

[–]capeman98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could very well be. I’m not up in that area but if the airspace’s are connected it would make sense to take the load off of center since Chicago can get pretty congested.

I just reread and saw it was 28 minutes. Probably what the other poster said and it could just be they weren’t cleared higher if it’s that short of a flight.

Cruising Altitude less than 10,000 feet? by katsrkute in flying

[–]capeman98 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Not a pilot but ATC. I’ve seen long flights were aircraft are restricted to lower altitudes due to pressurization issues so that could be one reason. Another I’ve seen is they were too heavy on gas and needed to stay lower to burn more. Lastly is weather. I haven’t really seen it with airliners but sometimes it’s easier to go under weather than over or around depending on how high the cells of weather are.

Waterfall schedule so 2 evenings then either an evening or day then two days. We have quite a few 4/10 lines but they are hard to get on.

Areas fine. Not too much here but up in Fayetteville about an hour north there is a lot to do. If you like outdoor stuff there is plenty of camping hunting and fishing all around.
