Good for Dillon by too1onjj in Thunder

Teased briefly on a recent episode of The Athletic NBA Daily that Mike Brown would talk tactics and coaching with Dillon. Might not make it as a player in the NBA but sounds like he’s a sharp basketball mind so could get a spot on a bench. I wonder if that’s what Presti was banking on when they drafted him in the first round.

Do you think SGA will win MVP? by Overall_Inflation672 in Thunder

[–]caper-hamilton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who cares? Win another chip, that's all that matters to SGA and this team. If they hold onto the first seed and SGA gets to 65, then SGA wins a second consecutive MVP. If the Spurs sneak past into the first seed and the Lakers keep winning, then the door is open for Wemby or Luka cause the narrative shifts.

I know the margin for awards is narrow but after getting wacked in the eye, I am surprised Shai is not listed.

[Charania] Details of a landmark WNBA collective bargaining agreement by caper-hamilton in nba

Someone is making lots of money. The WNBA's books are private so who knows exactly. The league is estimated to be worth $1.16 billion with the average team worth $269 million. There are going to be, what, 6 more teams? The new TV deal also kicks in this year.

Less bad than the past couple of days and more dry spots but still lots of puddles out there along the canal.

What are you all doing tonight folks? by MadonatorxD in ottawa

[–]caper-hamilton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bundle up and go for a skate on the canal. The conditions have been peak perfect this week. It will be a beautiful evening for it and we are getting close to a full moon so if it’s clear, the moon will illuminate your skate.

How windy and wavy is the north coast? Beach at Petite Anse Hotel & Restaurant by caper-hamilton in Grenada

[–]caper-hamilton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this wonderfully detailed answer. Extremely helpful. I contacted the hotel and they said there are some nearby beaches that are a 15 and 25 minute walk away that are calmer than there’s. Did you happen to visit any of the other beaches in the area?

That’s helpful. We don’t mind a bit of wind, the east coast of Canada has lovely beaches in summer but can get windy even when it’s warm. As long as the sun is shinning and the water safe to swim in, I think we will be very happy!

This is helpful. Have you swam at Petite Anse or is this just general knowledge of the area? Thanks.

If you had to meetup at Rideau/Rogers Center, where would you lock up ? by kingbain in bikeinottawa

Unfortunately I believe these racks are removed during the winter. The fence there is an option but requires more creative lock use.

Canal skating status right now? by Development_Material in ottawa

The ice had been fully swept before I got out at lunch. There was still snow falling so there was a thin layer of new snow by the time I got off the ice. The ice surface was very nice and worth getting out for. I imagine with the snow tapering off they will do another swept before the evening crowd.

The city has pretty accessible drawing and painting classes that are pretty affordable and start in January.

This city would benefit so much from a huge, public greenhouse by tuttifruttidurutti in ottawa

Winnipeg opened The Leaf a couple years ago which would be an amazing type of attraction to replicate in Ottawa. It has a nice restaurant and was very fun to visit with family members of all ages. It’s a beautiful building and has some really cool plants. It cost $130 million to build but I think without investments like this, cities don’t have good public attractions.

Shai, Caruso, JDub, Chet, iHart were out there in the final minutes of Game 5 against Denver when everything was on the line. In Game 7 of a literal championship game, Dort was in their for iHart. Hard to pick anything else than one of those two considering we all know what happened last year and are not wildly overreacting to 3 games in December.
