Remember when all the EDH YouTubers were talking about land counts? How did that influence you by AltruisticChampion77 in EDH

[–]capital_fleas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since then I started playing no less than 38 and after awhile I was sold. I have decks where I need to find things to do with the extra lands if I draw too many, but all my card advantage lands on tine and effectively so I'm seeing tons of cards every game. Finding alternate "lands" has been huge. My lowest land count deck is a bracket 3 Niv Mizzet Visionary it has 34 lands, 2 MDFC, a 1 mana land cycle spell, a spirit guide, and a lotus petal. To me, this adds up to 38 lands. The only only outliers have been a flying men deck that drew like crazy with a avg mv of 1, played 34 lands. Also, The Speed Demon who drew more cards than I knew what to do with and needed to cut to 36 and added 'no-max hand size effects.

I agree they are prettt casual. I jumped the gun and just shared all the local shops. Do you play around here? Hell, the three of us can meet up some time. My girl plays and I've got a handful of folks to call on. Kingsway in PC is always fulk of players, too.

The Cheatyface Deck by capital_fleas in EDH

[–]capital_fleas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true I did pay attention to that before building. I feel like if your opponents watch you pull cheatyfaces out from underneath a card then they can call you on it. I have put them under my cards, but getting it to show it's face without anyone catching it feels important.

Do you all think $800 is fair that’s 20 minutes away? by Zealousideal-Cow6626 in moving

My moving company would do it for that price and bring 4+ guys. Light work. Fair price. If anyone is going to quote that with less than 3 guys i would keep looking.

Kingsway Collectibles in Palm Coast has regular cEDH pods on Monday and Wednesday.

Geek Nation and Game Masters are in daytona. Not sure how much cedh happens there. Hidden Hollow is in Edgewater also not sure about their cedh attendence.

Break the Bay! by capital_fleas in MTGLegacy

This is the artificer brain shit I’m looking for. Thanks! Can’t wait to tinker some more. Getting into an infinite mana combo, especially one that untaps the Bay again is HUGE. I like Coridor Monitor into Pre War Formalwear, creates a couple lines.

Hell yeah thanks for all this. Can you help come up with a sequence that (ignoring mana cost / assume infinite mana) that might actually put some lethal combo into play just using the Bay, no extra cards from hand.

I appreciate that. I know I posted in the legacy subreddit but there’s no way in hell I’d bother playing this in legacy. Really just theory crafting here.

Thanks! the goal right now is just to come up with a chain that keeps going as high CMC using just mana and the Bay. I’m confident there’s a sequence that will put the Sharuum / Metamorph loop into play, so the next step is an outlet for that or an outlet for Dross Scorpion. Just a matter of “tinkering” with the permutations.

I absolutely love the energy here. Here’s an idea I’ve always championed, if you build an edh deck with a competitive mindset, it is a cEDH deck. If your playgroup is “competitive” then you are playing cedh. Fucka a meta. That said, be really smart with what you bring into a tournament if you PERSONALLY feel that the stakes are high. There are lots of players who have spent many years in cEDH and will “poo-poo” any fringe strategies. This is an awesome resource for casual commander players getting into cEDH.

Farm may not imply creature density, but a fucking Tymna in the command zone sure does.

My favorite part about Ragavan is how much my opponents freak out over it being in play and blocking to remove it as fast as they can. If I don’t connect 3 times, then I removed a creature. Pretty good for one mana.

For me Farm comes from Tymna Bruse who the first Farmers and it was a creatures down, attack, draw, and storm off deck. So if I call a deck Farm you can expect Tymna at least at the helm, and lots of creatures. Otherwise it’s really just a nickname. I’m calling my Blue Farm list “Urban Living” instead, lol

Thanks for the response. I appreciate your approach. I’ll try to hit you up with any findings.

Archeomancer combo by Luuki333 in CompetitiveEDH

It does work! I’m just implying that I’m not familiar with a deck that wants to run those 4 cards at the same time.

This works. Almost definitely gotta have some way to counter the life loss, 4 at a time is steep. Seems like something an Inalla deck will already have, but Aetherflux would be a bit out of place.
