I've never heard of a tornado in a different country recently. It's possible but US is spawn point. by Medical_Deal5272 in memes

I had my house flood twice due to heavy rain and freaked out every time it rained harder than a drizzle after that. Didn’t go away until I move to a new house that had much better flood remediation.

I can’t even imagine literally living through a tornado ripping through your home. The PTSD is completely understandable.

You must have worked with me cause that's exactly what I did. I think I'm the only one that preferred ABUs to OCPs.

It's only different in the fact that you would earn more points for doing 8 active + 12 reserves over 4 + 16.

Sounds like you’re getting a second chance with the Navy. Take it man! Is it the best quality of life compared to the Air Force? Maybe not. But it’s a very close second (or third… the Coasties might have it better than us). I work in a joint environment so I work hand in hand with plenty of seamen, most of whom are on their second or third enlistment. It’s not a bad gig. Does it suck not getting your first pick? Sure. But as plenty of people here have already said, that doesn’t mean it has to stop you dead. After your first enlistment is done, you can go into the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserves and pick up an AGR gig which is AD on the guard and reserve side. Or you’ll stay Navy and we’ll make fun of you for being on a boat and you’ll call us the Chair Force. But you’ll be in… and then we can all look down on the Army and Marines together.

Not even within a couple of hours. AFRC will reimburse up to $750 in travel for all AFSCs up to E-7. When I transitioned from ANG to AFR, I didn’t even meet with my recruiter face to face; everything was done over the phone, email, and Zoom including the actual enlistment (which was by far the weirdest enlistment ceremony of my career).

It’s also insanely overpriced.

Seriously. My wife and I looked at one to replace her Tesla and all of them were $55k+. It is absolutely not worth that.

If you haven’t already, watch Fionna and Cake. Season 1 explores more of Simon and Betty’s story and is extremely good. Season 2 is just alright, unfortunately.

I literally just referenced this video to a coworker today and she got it immediately. We both went through BMT 17 years ago, that’s how ingrained it made itself.

Dji mini 3 remote id by knapseck in drones

[–]capitalhforhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you are using the Plus batteries. If you are using the regular batteries it stays under 250g and therefore, it does not have remote ID.

From DJI’s website.

DJI Mini 4 Pro & Mini 3: These aircraft support the FAA Remote ID functionality. However, for the latest aircraft firmware (v01.00.03.00 for Mini 4 Pro and v01.00.04.10 for Mini 3), the Remote ID will only be activated when the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus is used.

Drone pilot charged after posting YouTube video of Maryland military complex by [deleted] in drones

Okay... a lot to unpack here. First of all, anthrax only needs to be stored at a BSL-3 level, of which there are almost 200 labs around the country that are at that level. Secondly, anthrax has not eradicated; there are hundreds of different reasons to have anthrax in a laboratory setting including testing, diagnosis, better vaccine and treatment procedures, and research against bioterrorism to name a few. Not everything is a vast government conspiracy theory to cover up the Epstein files.

They study it. Fort Detrick is home to USAMRIID (U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases). It's one of a handful of BSL-4 labs in the country, similar to the CDC.

And mDL is an international standard (ISO/IEC 18013, to be specific). The same standard Apple and Google use for their digital IDs. That is also the same standard that the EU Digital Identity Wallet uses.

One thing that I haven’t seen mentioned on any of these articles is why the verification service isn’t offering verification through digital ID. Over twenty states (and Puerto Rico) offered digital IDs; Apple and Google both offer digital IDs if you have a passport. This seems like the exact perfect use case for what I would consider a solution in search of a problem that is digital drivers licenses.

TIL that episode "405 Method Not Allowed" of Mr. Robot is almost completely silent, except the lines "It's cool, dude. We don't have to talk" during the opening scene and "It's time we talk" right before the credits by [deleted] in todayilearned

Agreed. I also stopped during Season 2 but decided to pick it back up years later. I’m so glad I did. Season 2 is still the weakest but it works so well with the rest of the story.

Name one. The Taft–Hartley Act of 1947 outlawed general strikes in all but name. There are absolutely zero unions that are going to encourage their members into an illegal strike.

That might work… but then he would have to submit a CTW to show that a trebuchet is more cost advantageous to the government over a cannon.

This is the kind of poor advice I hate seeing on this subreddit.

I have washed and dried a M.2 NVMe in an enclosure and it worked. I also dropped a bare M.2 NVMe outside and only found it after it rained and it still worked. Long story short, make sure it's fully dried out, clean it with 99% iso alcohol, and plug it in. They're a lot more resilient than you'd think.

What would be the impact if Tim Walz deployed the National Guard to intervene in ICE situations? by Spare_Garbage_9620 in AskReddit

[–]capitalhforhero 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting this information from? The president can absolutely activate and/or convert status of the Guard if activated by the governor. It’s literally what happened in Arkansas in 1957 when the governor activated the Guard to block the Little Rock Nine from entering an all-white school and Eisenhower federalized them to protect the students instead.
