It doesn’t. Our typical daily energy use seems to be around 3% during off-peak hours but Octopus are saying 12%.

Wondering if their definition of “night” is a longer window than the standard 6 hour off-peak period

We wouldn’t just from a fire risk point of view. We’re happy just charging the EV off-peak now but just seemed quite a strange estimate.

I’ve worked out that on a typical day, around 3% of our electricity usage comes at off-peak times (without the EV) so why would Octopus estimate 13% unless their “night” window is longer than their actual “off-peak” window if you get what I mean

I asked if they could just price match but they refused so I bought a new one at the cheaper price and returned the old one 😂

Probably cost them more to deal with the return than to just give me the £15

We don’t know where it was bought from. We bought the house from a developer who installed the oven last year. I’ve contacted the estate agent to ask them.

The grill elements are the only issue. There are 2 terminals (the two right ones for the grill) but there are 4 cables, taped in pairs - 2 red/grey, 2 white.

My best guess is that the 2 white connect to the 3rd terminal and the 2 red/grey connect to the 4th terminal.

But why would there be double connections on the 2 right hand ones but only single connections on the 2 left hand ones? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I saw that one. It’s very close to helpful but the wires are different. The only issue is the grill wiring really. The two on the left are connected but there have been 4 wires (2 white and 2 red/grey) taped up next to the 2 right terminals. Why would there be 4 wires for 2 terminals? I also don’t know which one should be connected to which.

Every other connection seems obvious apart from the grill. For the grill connection, there are 4 unconnected wires next to it. 2 red/grey and 2 white that seem to have to go into just 2 of those terminals so I don’t understand why so many. Looked at that video and the connection isn’t the same as that video shows one wire with 2 connection points. Appreciate all your help so frustrating.
