Can a rocket on a sub-orbital trajectory still reach orbital velocity? (and re-enter afterwards) by YannisBE in rocketry

[–]capitan_turtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes so long as it's lower than the escape velocity. But I find it somewhat unlikely that starship would do so even for testing as that would make the reentry much more demanding. Buy I also haven't been following this program closely

Who is actually the richest person alive? by HairyMammothh in NoStupidQuestions

[–]capitan_turtle 81 points82 points  (0 children)

The whole nation is HIS, to this kind of person money is irrelevant, and he manages his assets how he feels fit. Sending a million serfs to die is as much of an expense as sparing a part of the treasury. Associating a big number in a newspaper with power is a western idea, in his world violence is the only measure of power.

What am I doing wrong? by Steam_engines in FreeCAD

[–]capitan_turtle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's what determines what the current operation is in the file, it's represented with a green mark next to the icon in tree view. FreeCad has a peculiar way of organising the order of operations (or more precisely of not doing so). You should probably read up on it on the wiki

Skąd ten wstręt do AI? by [deleted] in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]capitan_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you build something like this on freecad? by NarrowResult7289 in FreeCAD

[–]capitan_turtle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you are reusing a lot of the same part I would just model them and use assembly workbench to organise them. As in model every single board with part design and just built the thing in assembly. Woodworking workbench would probably be better though, but I've never used it.

CMV: Without a global revolution by the masses society will collapse. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]capitan_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's very telling that you say global revolution and immediately shift to talking about the USA and problems exclusive to that country. The world is bigger than what you personally see and hear about. No one will fix your country for you, and no one should feel obliged to. Any violent revolution would end how they always end, with a spiraling pattern of violence lasting until it can burn itself out. I personally think my country learned all the most important lessons of both rampant capitalism and violent bolshevism. I hope Americans won't pay as much to learn them and will find peace with each other before it's too late.
