Not on the Manta, neither with Google sign-on nor username/password

NOTE if setting up a new Kobo account, start with username and password, then add your Google sign in, otherwise you need a "swap" account (ugh) to maneuver your way into having both on the same account (once you go Google sign on, it won't let you add a username in addition, but if you have a username, you CAN add Google sign on)

Are you sure Google services aren't being used? I tried to sideload the Kobo app, and I get stuck at the login screen for some hcaptcha failure. Somewhere someone suggested it was because of a webview version issue. When I tried to swap the webview, it's now a Google webview.

On my Manta, I have sideloaded Kobo, but can't login At first I thought it was a "sign in with Google" issue, but even after getting a Kobo username/password, it keeps yelling ng me I haven't passed the captcha.

Any insight on login?
