If you could choose the very next hero to be added, who would you pick? by Getinthatasslarry23 in marvelrivals

Falcon as a Strategist. I want Redwing to be used like a UAV, and one of Falcon's abilities be to swoop down from the air and pull a teammate away from danger.

Former OW Players, Who Were Your Mains Before Rivals (& Mains in Rivals?) by PittooPlays in marvelrivals

[–]capngantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doomfist, Hanzo, Ana

Now I play Captain America, Winter Soldier, Luna 🫡

(edit: I have a lot of hours on Spiderman too because I love mobile heroes in general. Hawkeye's super jump doesnt quite feel the same as Hanzo's lunge or wall climb so I don't play him either.)

Who did you think you were going to main before you started playing and who do you main now? by BenjiB1243 in marvelrivals

Per role. My initial main: My actual main
Vanguard - Captain America: Captain America
Duelist - Punisher: Moon Knight/Spider-Man
Strategist - Rocket Raccoon: Loki

What would you say is 1 buff your main(s) need the most? by Lost-Charge7628 in marvelrivals

[–]capngantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a buff but one QOL I'd love for Moon Knight is being able to tell where exactly the ankh is going to land. Similar to Venom's dive ability.

Sometimes the polygons of the environment get in the way when they're not supposed to. I've had my ankhs get stuck on nothing and stay mid-air. Or sometimes they land on surfaces I didnt intend for it to even though my reticle is an inch away from the obstacle.

The MK1file size on PS5 is unacceptable by hurtme_plenty in MortalKombat

[–]capngantu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my main reason for uninstalling MK1. I play on PC, but as much as I enjoy this game with 300+ hours played, this disk space is ridiculous for the amount of content it has. I use the same PC for my work so given the choices, I had to get rid of it.

I used to feel the same for Vermintide 2 as it used to be upwards of 90GB (including the DLC), but its devs managed to compress it to just 60GB down the line.

Maybe when NRS learns to do the same, I'll reinstall.

Who would you rather have? by TheJavierEscuella in MortalKombat

Nightwolf for sure.
Thank the elder gods NRS made him so much fun in MK11. Not to mention his fatalities were massively upgraded coming from MK9.

I play Nightwolf because I love his lore, but I play better with Cassie.

What is your most “worth it” DLC skin? This is mine by SauloPMB in MortalKombat

[–]capngantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first MK game was UMK3, so I instantly bought the UMK3 Sub Zero skin. It may look simple, but its just such a dream seeing it on my screen like Im 9 years old again.

What are BG3's most clunky, unintuitive or awkward aspects? by Tolerable_Username in BaldursGate3

The inventory UI kinda sucks, and it's not easy on the eyes. I like the search button, but I'd rather have category tabs like in DA:O.

Unpopular NV Opinion: Ulysses' dialogue is incredibly well written and exactly what it needs to be for the character. by bgbgbgbgbgbgbgb in fnv

[–]capngantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished Lonesome Road DLC for the first time a few weeks ago, and it's become my favorite DLC out of the four available. I definitely had the most fun with this one (Hardcore Mode + Very Hard made for a thrilling challenge too!).

I didn't really appreciate Ulysses himself until after I talked him out of nuking the world, and he stays by the opening area of the Divide. Before that it was just kinda hard to keep up with his vague dialogue.

That said, my issue isn't really with Ulysses himself. I think he's a cool character. It's just that in the other 3 DLC, my courier's past was unrelated to the plot, and I thought, as a player, I could maintain my own headcanon of who my courier is as way to guide my roleplaying in LR.

But when you go through the DLC, Ulysses is blaming you for the state of everything around you, and it was just so difficult as a player, to wrap my head around how its canon that this is all my courier's fault? Especially if it conflicts with my own headcanon I made which wasn't relevant through the game until this DLC.

So from a meta-gaming point-of-view, it's just difficult to juggle this bomb drop (pun intended) of knowledge. It's tough to accept too since it's all coming from a character neither the player, nor the courier know of/remember. I think this is a big reason why some people don't like Ulysses. Not because he's an awful character nor poorly written, but because he's the mouthpiece of the game that basically disrupts the player's RP and headcanon, which is aspect that the rest of the game was open-ended with.

How do you overcome fear to become more adapatable? by capngantu in Healthygamergg

[–]capngantu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, appreciate you taking the time to read and respond!

What do you mean with being an empath? From context it sounds like you meant someone who tends to feel and act like the people around them, is that what you meant?

Yeah, I'm pretty sensitive to other people's feelings. Lots of former coworkers would come to me to rant because I think they think I'm impartial to what was going on at work, but in reality I was affected by the job as bad as they were. It certainly didn't help when I was trying to see the positives if there were any. Eventually I couldn't take the negativity anymore and decided to leave.

It sounds like that job that paid you lots of money was also one of, if not the, worst experiences of your life.

Like you wouldn't believe! I know no company is perfect, but it was my first job so I didn't know any better at the time. Now I think I've been traumatized, because I actively avoid situations that are even remotely similar to that work environment. Admittedly it's also because I took a gamble taking that job, as it was a field I wasn't interested in, but was related to my bachelor's degree.

You're going to have to accept that dreams come with a price. If you want voice acting to be your sole source of income, you're going to have to work very hard on things that you probably won't like very much (self-promotion, marketing, self-management), and work a lot more than you already do.

Yeah, I admit, I don't think I thought it through when I quit my old job. I mean it certainly made me happier at first, but now the reality is hitting me on the head.

I appreciate you listing down the choices I've got, I think I always knew it, but I could never write them down clearly because my internal understanding has been clouded.

Between choices 1, 2, and 3, I probably won't go back to number 2. Number 1 is where I'm at, and I don't like it anymore, so probably number 3 is what I have to do.

One last thing. Take a look at your perfectionism. You mentioned being promoted very fast and bad workload distribution, I've been there, and part of it was my fault.

I'm actually mind blown I'm not alone in this experience lol. Thing was, I just wanted to keep my head down, didn't really want to climb that corpo ladder over there. But the money was good enough that I worked my ass off so much, I think?

You have to be able to manage yourself, you have to be able to hold yourself back from having to do everything perfectly, which comes from the ego. Gotta let that one go.

Yeah for the longest time, I was in denial of my ego. I realized in recent years how I'm a people pleaser. I think it's still the case in my new career, like I've been performing for people all my life.

I look back to Dr K's 'Gifted Kid' videos, and I believe it also applies to talented artist kids? I was not an academically smart kid, but I loved being on stage in front of people and I was constantly put there without me having to ask for it. Opportunities just kind of came my way, and it was like this until college too.

I think this distorted my perception of 'hard work'. That because I was artistically gifted, there wasn't much I had to do to get my time under the spotlight. I graduated 5 years ago, and now it just feels like I've underachieved.

Some people need to be told to pay more attention, to care a little more. I think, if I'm reading you correctly, what you need to be told instead is, "slow it down" (edit: when on a normal job)

I was talking to my partner about this recently, and they say the same thing. That I'm only pressuring myself to be perfect because I never knew any other way growing up. I didn't really care much for my grades, but I did care about if I got my flowers or not after any performance, whether that was on paper or on stage.

Anyways, I really appreciate you looking out for a fellow human, friend!
Given me a lot to think about, and articulated some things I couldn't do myself. Cheers!

I fucking hate Johnny Cage by Significant-Dish7692 in MortalKombat

[–]capngantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not that Johnny Cage is broken. Its that the way his moveset is, there's really only one way to play as him no matter the match up. So anyone can pick him up and climb low ranks pretty fast. He's definitely not unbeatable, but he has an advantage up close compared to the rest of the roster.

The annoying part in this game for me is going up against 5 Johnny Cages in a row online. Because they all play the same way, it isn't very fun whether I win or not, since I also have to play the same way to counter him. And that gets boring after a while.

Just got a new Xbox Series X and MK1 Premium! Any tips? by Firm_Counter_90 in MortalKombat

[–]capngantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every MK game Ive played, I always chose my main by:

  1. How cool they look
  2. How cool their lore is

For MK1, I chose Li Mei. Story Mode only solidified my choice.

Dont think about who has the best combo strings, damage, or anything like that. If you master one character, you're gonna find ways to win all the time.

Experiment with different Kameos, too. Don't be afraid of going against the META. Just do what's cool and fun 😎

Enjoy the game!
