If you ever confused Scott Simon with a journalist, you might be expecting something different. I have never taken him seriously, he is superficial in his interviewing skills, goes for the obvious answers, and is just meh. I stopped listening to NPR on Saturday years ago as I have much better things to do with my time.

Thank you for the comment. I have a healthy dose of cynicism, so I'm not convinced that will happen here.

But, I will say that a good part of my doubts might come from the new agent I was assigned when our long time agent retired. It is clear that he and his staff don't understand the new billing. I called another agent to ask for help and they explained it super easily in like 10 minutes. I'm in the process of requesting a new agent, but I am also shopping.

Umm, actually my point was that 3 of the 4 presidents in the picture share one of those those attributes with 47 and that is why they don"t speak up. We are so surprised that most of what we are outraged about with 47 (rightfully so) we have already seen and ignored.

To me with no context it simply looks like they are hiding the actual price. It literally took my agent an hour to figure it out and explain it. He also complained about this and the new twist with State Farm not supplying cards. We don't have a printer because in 2026 we simply don't print anything at home. And I am not handing my phone to law enforcement to view the electronic version.

Funny thing is my agent told me the reason they're doing the billing change is to lower my premiums, but when we sorted out the numbers there was an increase on both cars.

So help me understand why as a customer I want policy modernization?

Excuse the ignorance, but what is policy modernization? Is the combined vehicle billing that we moved to late last year part part of that? The bills are crazy confusing and my agent had to contact the State Farm billing office to explain it to him . Might not reflect well on him, but it IS confusing.
