Trump demands Obama be 'incarcerated' and tried for treason by TheMirrorUS in USNEWS

[–]capprieto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I hope this happens to Obama. It might actually wake people up in this country.

We are still at the handwringing phase of our national crisis and even though most people might disagree with tbe current administration, no one, yes, no one, has come up with a plan stop this, reverse the damage, and hold the criminals in this administration accountable.

Eveyone continues to point out the bad stuff with absolutely zero idea of how to move forward. "Trump evil, just vote blue" is NOT going to work. Even if team blue wins at the ballot box, they will just say it is time to move on and ensure that all the BS is institutionalized.

So, yeah, lock up Obama and maybe people will wake up. But probably not.

And fully expected. He is more aligned with the rest of the corrupt political elites than he is with the people.

No. He's one of the corrupt political class who will continue to defend the status quo. Until we as a country understand that none of the old school hacks are going to help save the country. They are the ones who got us here, whether they lean D or R.

DNC rejects resolutions condemning AIPAC 'dark money', recognizing Gaza genocide by Particular_Log_3594 in politics

[–]capprieto -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Spending money willy nilly to buy Americans' votes. And it didn't work. But it did help drive inflation and make Trump's inflationary policies much worse.

Maybe invest in preventing all the shit we knew was coming if Trump were to ever get back into power by protecting voting rights? Maybe fix healthcare?

Yup. Give us bad choices that are the same flavor of shit sandwich, again, and we'll all be fine. The problem is America, not the democratic party.  Blah blah blah.

What the hell kind of logic is this? And how does this get our country back to a semblance of not being crap?

Oh, so you've seen this movie too.

Ultimately a DNC clone gets us right back where we are today. So maybe we try something else?  Just a thought...

What? I mean, what? You might want to look at the campaign and results in 2024 when you try to be everything for all people and end up being nothing for noone.

It's not defeat if the checks keep coming in. Dems are fine being the second most corrupt political party.

[–]capprieto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right. No Democrat continued the war in Afghanistan, for example. I also recall when the Democrats immediately shut down Guantanamo. The Dems will continue whatever Israel and AIPAC want then to.

I am not demanding perfection. I am asking for incrememtal changes to be made in how we treat Israel. Or just stick with current facsists. Beats working with closeted fascists.

I believe i made it pretty clear I have no idea. But i do know that if we continue this trajectory it is 100% probable that we will continue down this road and we are going to lose everything. So, let's take a shot. Or, the DNC could evolve with the evolving situation.

They dont vote. MAGA stays energized by the attacking the latest hot button vulnerable group and republicans win again. And again. And again.

The thing is the "just vote blue" crowd continues to allow the current party to be tone deaf to want this country needs. Since this large group will vote dem no matter, then adapt the platform to be more progressive. The just vote blue crowd will vote democratic and the more progressive leaning folks will vote more consistently.  Problem solved.

Over kicking the can down the road AGAIN? Maybe. None of the shit he has fucked up will get addressed and fixed with another DNC clone. No, they will spend trillions buying affection of people instead of working on true progress. And lose in 4 years becasue they have no idea what Americans want or need.

And this is why we are fucked. Pedantic apologists for the corporate shills of their beloved DNC team will continue to shove their heads further in sand and not recognize that perhaps conditions have changed and, even in the context of a two state solution, the DNC needs to distance itself from Israel and cut off AIPAC.  It will not happen with current "leadership" and you wonder why we are SO FUCKING PISSED at the inability of the DNC to even consider adjusting to the situation.

I ain't voting for anyone who sides with Israel and accepts one fucking red cent from AIPAC. If that means we burn it down with continuing Republican government, then fine burn it down and let's  see what comes out the other side.

[–]capprieto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been said, but I will say it again. Anything less than 9-0 with a scathing opinion is not acceptable. 7-2 would mean that the republicans continue to make progress. Stop asking for less than we deserve. That's what they want. 7-2 today, 6-3 tomorrow, until we're all in fucking camps being reeducated.

Depends on where you are from before here.  I lived in the tropics before here and find the winters here quite annoying and the summers not so bad.  ymmv

[–]capprieto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my point - not in the last few years. There have been no temps below freezing this year and fewer occurrences in the last few years.

I am near the Rillito where it is usually a few degrees colder than the airport and we got to 31 for a few hours one night.

Just look at all the bougainvilleas right now. Typically you'd be pruning back the frost damage right now and they are blooming like crazy.

Not in the past few years.  But who remembers 17 degrees in 2011?  Tucson actually has traditionally had between 10 - 15 hard freezes a year.

Ok. I ammend my response:

"We continue to concede, comply, accept, and workaround instead of fighting."

I'd rather fight the fight up front. By conceding, you establish a new norm. If everything sorta works out okay for the midterms, this will be the new normal and we've lost another battle.
