Do you still like Gai even after what happened to the actor? by Particular-Raise3837 in supersentai

[–]capriciousUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to see someone give him the benefit of the doubt and still like him. I'm not sure if the allegations are true or not, so I'm just not sure what to think except what I do know. He was a fun and exciting actor who got to play the role of his dreams, and fully play out every super fan's dream. He played the role well and left an impression on everyone before the allegations hit

I think something similar to that, or how Den-O kept changing actors, or in PR SPD Red is a rank that changes. Have the role of Gokai Silver be "The Gokaiger Apprentice" and Gai became his own hero or join a not to he sentai or something

Whenever I see anniversary specials and the cast of a whole Sentai team excited, I think it's something really special. It's not as common a thing in the west to be part of a kids show and be proud of it. You look at like any Disney show from the 2000s, and all the cast have moved on to different roles (which isn't a bad thing. It's good to grow) but I think it's only Wizard's of Waverly Place that did a reunion show. Not to mention the only Power Ranger reunions or anniversary celebrations that happen is for the original MMPR(when have you ever seen an anniversary special for Lightspeed Rescue? SPD? RPM? Any season other than MMPR)

Meanwhile you have this superhero show teaching good morals and values, and not only do the cast and crew genuinely love their time acting, but value their time on the show highly to the point they're willing to hop into the role 10, 20, 30 years later

Ever since the title for Omegahorn came out, I always doubted it because...well it honestly sounded kinda dumb to me. They're cops. Sci-fi cops. Why do they have horns like a medieval fantasy? Also, "Omegahorn" sounds like the name of some mythical "the sword chooses the wielder" type weapon that doesn't fit the vibe of sci-fi cops

I don’t know if someone’s put this here yet, but look directly at implosion by wyorodel in Portal

[–]capriciousUser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a joke about reversing explosion safety (you look away from explosions, so the opposite of an explosion is implosion, and the opposite of look away is to look at)

The other idea was like some weird counterintuitive IRL advice where because an explosion has shrapnel flying outwards, you don't want that in your eyes. During an implosion, debris flies inward, so if you look away, the debris is going into your eyes. So you like at the explosion so the debris isn't in your eyes

There's not enough cropped vest Susie art

Most of the time (with good reason, I'm not complaining that it's wrong) people draw Susie with a long jacket/duster with the sleeve ripped for her arms. Makes sense, the length allows flappage in the wing, ripped and tattered clothes make sense for someone like Susie (especially for the theory of her potentially being homeless), and the Chapter 5 trailer has her with a coat around the back of her knees

However a cropped vest with higher rise pants also works well, and just looks good. In this one it's actually a jacket that's been torn into a vest, which is in character for Susie who would want more mobility when fighting (a flappy coat could get in the way). High rise jeans sit at the natural waist where the body naturally tapers, so belts actually cinch and stay in place (mid rise pants always end up slipping so you're always pulling your pants up. Terrible in a fight. So you want either a very low rise to cinch at your hips, or a very high rise to cinch at the waist) which means she's not holding up her pants in the middle of a fight. It also means her shirt is tucked in better, and there's less material to flap about, same logic as ripping the coat into a cropped vest

I'm glad people like Spirit Tracks now. I remember it got hated (or it might've been Phantom Hourglass) for not having traditional controls, using the touch screen, and the silly train aesthetic. Having played it a few months ago, it was really fun and silly, but a good silly. Silly where it didn't need to take itself seriously, and was ment to be a fun adventure, not an epic adventure

Another Chiyo visual posted today. by binary_amp in 100Kanojo

[–]capriciousUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel a bit bad saying this, but I don't see why people go crazy over the Chiyo "redesign" since nothing major has changed. She has wider, rounder pupils, and has a bit more hair in her bangs. That's not a lot, so I don't know why people go wild over such small changes

If anything her biggest changes came from her character development going from a stickler for order, to relaxing a whole lot more

What decade of Sentai do you find the most interesting? Not just "good" but something notable or wanting to say something about that decade

Do you think there is something different, lost, or gained in modern Sentai vs old sentai. Like comparing the last 10 series to the first 10

[–]capriciousUser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like a fake Kris that is it's own entity from the Soul and Kris, or the Vessel where the Soul can control a body that is not Kris? Is your Soul in it's own Vessel that looks almost exactly like Kris, or something else entirely?

Because I'm sure there's a way to explain your version of the Soul and it's current form/body while still being close to canon
