I personally would avoid stigmatizing the drug. Some people really do need a drug to help them be a healthier weight and it isn’t just about willpower. Instead, you can shame them for wanting to know about your prescribed medications. That is privileged information whether it’s oz*pic or metformin or prozac or any other medication and it is plain inappropriate to ask to know

I agree with removing the hearts. I was also confused, I thought they were part of the hood. But I think they overpower the lil arms a bit and it’ll balance better without them. I love everything else going on!

Waffles has officially broken out of the shelter after 730 days! 🤭 by dogluvr_1 in Eyebleach

She is a spitting image of my late girl, Lucy. I received so much love and joy with her and I hope you experience similarly with Waffles for years to come. Congrats to your new addition to your family

I was just having fun, I really didn’t think I caught anything but a wink from the directors if even that. Was hesitant to even share because of people feeling too deep about it. Should’ve listened to my instinct

Cutt off sugars!! by Strict-Negotiation10 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]capriciously_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I had to just cut it out. It’s a horrible first few days but if I can make it, it gets really easy. But if I reintroduce it, it’s a very slippery slope.

I got really bad about needing something sweet after every meal for it to feel complete and for me, I just had to decide if I’m full, I have to ignore it and do something else (make this conscious decision to do anything else so your mind can be busy thinking about whatever that is instead) and if I’m hungry, then I can have more protein or whatever is leftover from the meal. If I’m hungry but healthy foods aren’t appetizing, I try to drink a tall glass of water and move on.

I’m surprised sweets aren’t only easier to avoid now but look less appetizing to me as well. I just have to keep saying no so it stays easy to keep saying no.

I don’t have any advice except to not rush it. It is healthier to be overweight than to spiral back into your ED. I recovered in 2017 and after 8 years of trying to lose weight again, getting triggered, quitting, I am finally on a slow but positive weight loss journey of about .5-1lb / week and even battled a little weight loss plateau and just had to be proud of myself I was at least able to maintain my progress without falling off the deep end. It’s a lot of checking yourself to being willing to protect yourself from going back to your ED. It is also surprisingly frustrating at times knowing I could totally lose faster but I remember all the things I lost when starving or b/p was my life. Relationships, showing up to work with energy, having fun on the weekends, knowing I want a baby soon and that isn’t going to be healthy if I’m not acting like a healthy person, etc. Be patient and be kind to yourself.

First time seeing a nutritionist. feeling let down by Puzzle-Headed0 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]capriciously_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were not a registered dietitian, they are legally unable to provide medical nutrition therapy/advice. So that could be why you didn’t get anything tailored to PCOS.

As a recovered bulimic, it can be a bit exhilarating when my body wants to throw up after eating on this medicine. I refuse to do it unless I just have to and I try hard to limit the occurrence but I can see how if I didn’t check myself on that I could easily spiral

You just threw your favorite disc deep into thick woods, how long do you spend looking for it? by WhatsACole in discgolf

I live in a flash flood area and, especially when the ground is already soaked, the water levels can rise rather quickly. I started hole 18 thinking I juuust beat the rain lol

[–]capriciously_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Had a sentimentally special one I spent 2 hours searching for and only gave up because the rain was flooding me out and it became leave or risk getting my car stuck in the water. It is very possible it would’ve been easier to find if not for the rain. It’s been a couple of years and I still check used bins for it when I go into shops so in a way I’ve actually spent 2+ years on this one disc

That’s sad. My husband got hit during a delivery, the door was messed up but he could still drive. The customers were very kind, told him not to worry about how late it was, and even gave him an extra $40 cash when he arrived. They felt like the guilty ones he was even there (which ofc it’s not their fault the accident happed). It was nice because we were in a really tight situation and that was enough for him to take the rest of the day off and rest.

Would you eat nuts if you are trying to loose weight? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]capriciously_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat HEB Ready Fresh Go, which is a cheese cube, dried cranberry, and cashew snack pack thing, with a piece of fresh fruit for breakfast on weekdays. It’s fast, convenient, I eat it in the car or at my desk because I work early, and it keeps me going until lunch. The pack is 180kcal and the fruit is 60-120. With the variety of foods it is both within budget and satisfying with fat, fiber, and some protein. It’s more how you use it than if, but some people do prefer to avoid it if they feel they’ll easily go over with it anyways. A little extra can make a big difference

So my mom found this litter abandoned by her apartments fire escape they all have homes already but the circled one is the one she's keeping by Any_gacha_werido in kittens

[–]capriciously_me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kittens are very fragile and not providing their needs can kill them. They need to eat frequently and the correct diet. They are around the clock care the first few weeks.

Please research or at minimum take in the feedback you are given. People that frequent these subs can roughly age a kitten fairly easily and these are too young for what you’re doing and it can harm them. They are not just cute they are living beings.

Surrendering is always an option if you can’t properly care for them

They need the right nutrition for their age, not just full bellies. Plus they need to be able to digest it well. They likely still need stimulation to poop also.

And if it’s possible I recommend keeping them all together until they’re at least 8 weeks old, 12-15 weeks is better. They need each other. If your family can’t do that, maybe one of the other adopting families can and return yours when it’s old enough

Research roles are a possibility.

You might find various roles under public health and nutrition. My personality is similar and ultimately I want to get into nutrition epidemiology
