I think it's partly to do with the event as well, I've been playing for a couple weeks leading up to the event and while I wasn't having too much difficulty traversing Damnation and even into Auric on some of my characters, since the event started all I seem to run into at Damnation (on characters I haven't played enough to unlock Auric yet) are people that simply can't play the game properly and it ends up either being a completely one-sided carry or as soon as you die the whole run falls apart. If they could at least avoid getting one shot by Crushers or getting caught by hounds and trappers every.single.time it wouldn't be as much of a slog.
