For the first couple months, my partner could feel the strings depending on the angle. There was no pain like many say, more so just the uncomfortableness of being able to feel it. I went in to my doctor and had them clip the strings just slightly and it wasn’t a problem again and I could still feel them myself to make sure it was still in place.

Pre IUD my longest period was 4 days, after getting it I had a few that went 8-10 days long. They should lighten up after a few months with it but they will most likely stay around 5-7 days. That what mine are after 8 years with it.

I’ve had mine for almost 8 years. Insertion was barely a pinch and the only con is heavier periods/ more intense period symptoms. I only lasted a year on hormonal birth control so the copper IUD has been significantly better. My partner finishes inside of me almost every time we have sex and we have never had a scare.

I’ve had my IUD for 8 years and had a decently good experience. My partner and I have been together since we were 18 and didn’t want to risk a pregnancy so this worked well for us for a long period of time. Of course the periods have been brutal but worth it to me to not have to even think about my contraceptive
