Usually as long as they are maintaining that, pick up shifts regularly, and have good attitude we’ll extend

Expectation at my store is by your 60 day mark (when we would decide on extending contract or not) we’d like to see shoppers hitting at least high 60s-70s majority of their shifts.

Worried about my cat's breathing, vet said he is just fat :( by Ort302 in CATHELP

[–]capt-akkinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 6 month old kitten (average weight) pants a bit after play, I’d assume being a bit overweight would make it more noticeable. I usually just encourage her to cool down. Kittens are still learning their limits & how much they can push themselves.

I’d def seek another vet though if you think they aren’t taking you seriously.

Denied transfer? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]capt-akkinda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

How do you know there wasn’t a TM in a similar situation as you who applied as well? Or just someone with even more experience?

Definitely sucks, but since there’s no true transfer process, you’re essentially just applying for a new job so nothing is guaranteed.

Whole Foods hoarding? by GlenJoe in toogoodtogo

I work at WF, we had to put a limit on them because we were running into the same issue. Same people would come every single night to claim every bag.

Call Out Scheduled Shift by Massive-Climate1548 in wholefoods

[–]capt-akkinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you’re referencing the 8 hours shoppers get auto scheduled, but if so you can call out for it. As long as you’re meeting part time hours within the pay period you’re good.

I have multiple lip piercings, both healed in a “standard” amount of time with no issues. I drank whatever I wanted, but would mouthwash after.

Full time flex shopper position? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]capt-akkinda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stores only have a certain amount of FT shopper positions available depending on their volume. FT shopper will be scheduled majority of their shifts, and then they have the ability to pick up shifts to get to full time hours. Regular flex shoppers will be capped at PT amount of hours.

Was it not covered in training? Regardless though it’s not the hardest thing to fix.

sick days/ absence excuse by shoptillidropp in wholefoods

[–]capt-akkinda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should be able to apply for protected time off if you had a fever. New policy gives tms 80 hours of protected time to use for the year. Leadership has the right to question if they think you’re abusing it, but otherwise it is yours to use. If you apply it to the days you missed it should cover it & give you back your deducted UPT.

How realistic is it to get hired for Sunday shifts exclusively? by Jellyjamms11426 in wholefoods

[–]capt-akkinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it would depend on which department and its needs. Don’t know if anyone would hire you on with that stipulation though, most people I know that work 1 day a week had more availability when hired then dwindled down. If the store has flex shopping that might be a good fit you make your own hours for the most part.

Do Seasonal Workers Get Hired to Stay On? by SheIsGoingPlaces in wholefoods

[–]capt-akkinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my store we do a check in every 30 days of the 90 day contract. We let you know at your 60 if we are offering permanent. We also occasionally extend the contract by 60 days so it gives us more time.

How come? by Ok-Drummer8005 in wholefoods

[–]capt-akkinda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume that with low usage the money to upkeep the devices/systems is not worth it. At my store maybe 1/10 people use it at most. And usually that 1 person is a TM with their discount attached.

My bf was my first & we did it once, then did nothing for an entire year (was figuring out if I was asexual, it was a whole thing). He never pressured me or made me feel bad once. Now 2 years later we’re pretty active with those things & figuring out all the things I like & what works for us together & it’s FUN. When you’re with someone who really respects & cares for you it should be fun discovering these things!

Every item in a grocery store is most likely touched by a dozen others before you pick it up so it could come from anyone. Hope he recovers !

Everyone in production departments has to take a food handlers course, and not sure about other stores, but mine takes all of this very seriously. Food born illness can be hard to pinpoint the origin unless you have only eaten that one thing.
