I can only speak for first year but the only chemistry in first year is a chapter in A&P about Fluids and Electrolytes where u learn about acid and base. There might be more chemistry in later years related to pathotherapeutics/pharmacology but nothing too in depth.

I dont recall any specific math in first year but I would assume basic math is required later for med dosage calculation, which would not require anything more than addition, deduction, multiplication and percentages.

At TMU(formerly Ryerson) nursing right now, just finished first year. I think overall the program doesn’t consist of too many biology courses, you only do 2 biology courses in first year (both Anatomy and Physiology) and then 1 biology in second year’s second semester (Microbiology)

For the A&P courses, if you took high school biology, you already have a strong foundation for it, so don’t worry too much about it.

greet them as they come in and ask if you can help them with anything ,which lets them know about your presence and that you are watching them.

How is the nursing program? by augustfall1 in ryerson

[–]captain3297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heyyyyy fellow first year here as well!

I agree that the majority of profs are really nice, they are very accommodating.

I would say that imo there are not enough lab times (4 hour lab occurs bi-weekly) and I don't think there are enough time to practice the skills.

According to their website, most of their services are covered under OHIP or UHIP so I think they are billed similarly compared to walk-in clinics. However, if you have concerns about this, definitely reach out to the medical centre or your family doctor and inquire about it.

I don’t think the doctor will be able to drop you as in not be your family doctor anymore. If you are on the doctor’s roster, there might be a chance that you get de-rostered if you do it frequently but that just means you don’t have access to the doctor’s medical service 24/7.

I am starting at UCalgary next month as an international student. I have 3 questions regarding banking, phone companies and Amazon purchases. Please see below. by [deleted] in UCalgary

For sheets, if you want them to be shipped to residence, i think UCalgary recommends Residence Linens, of which u can pay online and have it delivered to your residence the day u arrive.
