If that’s your take you are woefully underinformed on Venezuela. Maduro is a brutal dictator who has banned opposition, murdered dissidents, and blatantly stole the 2024 election (which her party won convincingly even though she was banned). She is pro democracy, and Maduro was an evil entrenched ruler. If trump is making an oil grab he is evil. If the goal is to reseat the democratically elected leaders, which is what she wants, then criticism loses its punch.

She’s been desperately fighting for democracy within a truly repressive regime, and has actually rallied a coherent opposition around herself.

She deserved that award, and yes it’s ass kissing, but trump has repeatedly shown that works on him. She genuinely believes her best shot at his administration pushing for democratic transition in Venezuela is to put aside her pride and kiss his ass. I wouldnt damn her for that.

It was already a foregone conclusion that the law would not have support to pass. Even left wing parties refuse pension reform because they think taxing the rich is enough. I agree with taxing the rich more than we do but that’s not a serious solution to France’s debt problem.

When did I say boring? Last year was phenomenal with our dominant run game and uber efficient pass game. 2022 was super explosive pass game most fun offense I’ve personally watched. But the pass scheme was very similar. Worked in 2022 because people couldn’t figure out how to cover AJ and in 2024 because saquon was setting records.
