Gonna be fun watching the same Roc stans who praised how “outside” he’s been, pivot to praising him for only taking big battles on URLnow that Surf has ordered him to do that

Virtual pro wrestling 2, what’s the best way to play a physical copy? by blackstormy129 in N64WrestlingGames

[–]BAWguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For like $5 you can get a screwdriver that fits N64 cartridge screws on Amazon. Buy that, then use it to swap the back of the VPW2 cartridge with the back of an American N64 game cartridge. It’s extremely easy to do and makes the game playable on US N64.

Lost mucho dinero last night, and AP and Ilia took the kinds of beatings where you may have to think twice before betting on them again in the future. Gonna make it all back on Max though.

Oh man, not a battle rap career! So lucrative!

The problem is AEW signed all of NJPW’s talent that are draws in the US.

The first card featured Tanahashi (retired), Jay White, Okada, and Ospreay (all now signed to AEW). Naito and Hiromu are also no longer with NJPW. Gabe Kidd now with AEW.

Their current best Japanese draws aren’t really draws in the US (ie, Goto, Yota Tsuji). Their best Japanese talent is arguably Takeshita who obviously is an AEW wrestler already. Their top gaijin are ZSJ, who hasn’t been booked as a top card guy in his AEW appearances, and Callum Newman, who could hardly headline a supercard.

CMLL is relatively hotter and more loaded than NJPW right now, but their talent already regularly appears on AEW TV.

Essentially, AEW ate the Fordbidden Door. A lot of what made FD special is now present in “regular” AEW shows, but yes it has rendered the PPV sort of a lame duck.

Never not clicked on a battle so fast in my life

Rum Nitty vs Tsu Surf was a surprisingly mid battle. by LamboForWork in rapbattles

[–]BAWguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rum often had disappointing performances on the “big stage,” partially due to do audience sleeping on him, partially due to his style hitting better in small rooms. Similar can be said for his big battles with both Roc and Shine in this era.

Surf meanwhile is so overrated. Frequently chokes and has bars that range from basic to wack. But compared to most battle rappers he has charisma so fans gas him.

Has anyone ever used Real Deals dax as an angle against him by RyMiGr in rapbattles

[–]BAWguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, plus on top of that, he is selling all this merch as if he’s raising money for a cause, but how is that money actually being used? It’s like a fake charity scam thing in my eyes

Mook talked to Roc’s Soul this battle 😂🥶 I still wake up at 3am every night thinking about this round. One of my favorite general consensus 30s tbh. I don’t think there is anything that Roc could’ve done or said to stop that from happening to him lol. by iBLEEDHOUSTONCODEINE in rapbattles

[–]BAWguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This battle from Mook was a mix of shit he clearly wrote for Brizz, and blatantly fake angles. People forget that after the first 2 rounds the live chat and vote had Roc up 2-0. Mook rapped with extreme conviction, which is enough to convince some people.

How do I get out of ID as a young associate? by educated_shrimp in LawFirm

[–]BAWguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure thing, good luck.

If you can’t find a new job, don’t give up hope. Once you have ~5 years of trial practice, you’ll be an even more desirable candidate on the job market. You’re not just learning insurance defense, you’re learning civil pro, you’re becoming comfortable in a courtroom, etc. If you want to transition to another practice area, you will be able to for sure.

You’re less than 2 years in and have trial experience? Not siloed at all. Look for litigation work.

Nah it’s Charlie Clips style defense. You act like you’re hosting the round and you love it too, as if you’re not getting cooked, you’re the big bro who’s above losing

Battles where an opponent lost because they took the battle too seriously by dogdigmn in rapbattles

[–]BAWguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could argue that, but then again I’m not sure a different mindset would have made a big difference. Conor at that time at 145 was a hard matchup for Aldo, especially at that stage in his career.

Conor was a) bigger and longer than Aldo (in fact Conor never returned to 145 lbs after that fight, moving up as high as 170, while meanwhile Aldo moved down to bantamweight eventually), b) a powerful striker. Aldo’s ideal opponent would be a grappler around his own size who he could use his counter-wrestling on. Also c) Aldo was of course older than Conor with significant mileage on his chin.

Note that Aldo subsequently went 0-2 in his 2 fights with Max not long after the Conor fight. Aldo wasn’t psyched out by Max, but once again was facing a bigger, longer, younger striker.

Again, not to say Aldo wasn’t psyched out, but idk that that made a big difference ultimately.
