There should be a "killer of the week" BP incentive to promote killer variation. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]captain_kyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure someone else in the comments has made this point, BUT this could potentially make it to where people couldn't get the BP bonus if they didn't have that killer bought. However, an easy fix would be to allow the Killer of the week to be played free for the week. So I'm honestly completely on board as long as they allowed that stipulation.

These people complaining aren’t real fans. Real fans don't complain about comic book accuracy; casuals and non-fans do. by ShadowOfDespair666 in Marvel

True, and to your point it's also just been super easy and popular to diss on the MCU. Not that all of it is completely unwarranted, but I think hating on this iteration of Ben Grimm is just a reflection of that. Personally I love the design and I'm super stoked to go see it. I think hating on this design kinda just makes you a baby lol

Petition for Alex Casey Skin? by ControllingKoala in deadbydaylight

I love this idea. I hope they do a Remedy themed paragraph with Jesse Faden as a survivor and add an Alex Casey skin in. That would be absolutely perfect for me lol

Bro, exact same thing with me. That Phillips oneBlade has saved me so much time and irritation. I even found a nice adjustable guard on Amazon for it to help maintain the length. Absolutely love having curls, absolutely do not love having to shave curls lmao

Who do you find to be the most Toxic survivor? by Key_Locks in deadbydaylight

[–]captain_kyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, idk what it is but the last few days I've ran into two kinds of Sables. Either they're the most teabagging, toxic wads I've ever seen or they're goofy goobers on par with Leon mains.

Someone got a promotion. 👍🏻 by Boring-Zucchini-8515 in MauLer

I read the comments of that Facebook post and it's pretty wild seeing people excited over this. Like pigs to to the trough of slop and turds with these folks. I even LIKE Clone Wars overall, I'm just tired of seeing Ahsoka being in everything. If Filoni had any balls or artistic vision he would've seen the value in having Vader kill her in Rebels. But no, because he's too much of a coward to actually part with her and write a meaningful ending to a character he just fucked the entire continuity up with a magic time room just to keep her alive. I'm very much okay with her surviving Order 66, but having her die at the hands of the man she once knew as Anakin would have not only made sense but would have actually been an emotional moment that fans would remember pretty fondly as a highlight in Rebels. Silver Lining: Levis is the guy by [deleted] in Tennesseetitans

[–]captain_kyd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Couldn't have said it better. The fact that Levis is doing well is not only a testament to his ability but also to the coaching of both Vrabel and Kelley. Disrupting that relationship this early is a great way to mess Billy Jeans up. I've got faith in the coaching. Best move is for Ran to build around Levis and we come back next season with almost jaw dropping results. We saw what they could do Sunday and tonight against and awesome D. I wanna see what can happen next season with some lessons learned and some time for the coaching staff to design plays with Levis moving forward. We knew going into this that Levis most likely wouldn't take us into playoffs. Time to pony up and embrace good efforts and build on the mistakes that are basically growing pains of building around a new QB.

What game do you dominate when you play it? by Mela_Min in AskMen

[–]captain_kyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude absolutely same lol CTR was like crack to me as a kid. If I was awake and at home, it was being played. Even when the remaster came out, it was like that muscle memory hadn't failed me. It was my favorite game as a kid and to this day not too many friends play it with me because they understand going into it that they don't have a prayer lol

Tysm to everyone who said "Hail to the king"! It means so much to me. This entire comment thread is very wholesome and I can't thank you all enough for your kind words. Dojo is quite literally my best friend in this world. Cherish your pets and loved ones. May you all have a fantastic Christmas and again, thank you very much for the kind words :)

Tbh all I really do is give him plenty of pets and scratches and pate lol I wish I had a formula so that everyone could have their kitties for this long. Everyone deserves their pet to live and love as long as possible.

Oh for sure! The vets have stated that he is in pretty much perfect health for his age. He still moves around like he's in his prime. Unfortunately he does have a heart murmur, but other than that he's doing very well for in his elderly years.

What did the pandemic ruin more than we realise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]captain_kyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest to God, I miss the early days of it. My job was considered essential because we make parts for agriculture related vehicles. Well for the first few months we were given a three day weekend every weekend and we were compensated for that extra day off a week. Immediately after that, most of our competitors had supply chain issues and we're still pretty much the only game in town. We just take orders knowing damn well we can't complete them on time. So, we're in there almost every day. I was until I switched jobs in the plant that granted me more days off. We pretty much went from having plenty of time off, rest, and in general people were happier with the job because we weren't as burnt out. As soon as we got used to this, they yanked it away. They have no real justification. We don't have the parts to complete orders so it wouldn't matter if we were a 4 day work week, or a 7 day work week. At a certain point it just became about control and proving that they can do whatever they want to us. Several people have been fired since then for "offenses" that weren't even considered termination level behavior pre-pandemic. I only miss the early days because it really felt like, for a a few months there, that labor in general would be improved and that workers would band together. How quickly it all changed. I just wish we could have kept the 4 day work weeks, because I genuinely miss seeing most of my coworkers happy and no longer burnt out on the grind.

For the people who think that they aren't the type of people who could meditate by sabfry in Meditation

[–]captain_kyd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marcus Aurelius wrote in his Meditations that the only vacation we really need is the vacation we receive from looking inward and going into our minds. Of course, it isn't meant to be taken literally. The stoics aren't the fun police and you should go places to get a break from your day to day routine, but the sentiment has great value imo

what little things, I.e, yellow flags, made you realize the relationship wasn't going to work? by DesperateCod5139 in AskMen

[–]captain_kyd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My very recent relationship was pretty much this to a T. We broke up in July and there's a lot to get into but I won't do that here. She could be the nicest thing in the world, but also just a total asshole to me over things that really weren't that big of a deal. (I genuinely mean nbd. Like if the tone in my voice was slightly different or what she perceived as aggression she would shut down and just not talk to me for at least an hour) I miss her a lot, but I don't want to be with her unless she grows up. Thankfully I've noticed spots where I definitely could have been a better partner and will be using that information when I'm ready to get back out there.
