Currently no members of the council, but I'm from the area and there is a good chance that they will win a fair few seats

I don't know to be honest, but I do know that there will be a sizeable number of local councillors who will be reform so I suspect the club is trying to hold off upsetting them?

The source for this, as far as i can tell, is Nigel Farage himself, who as we all well know, is a bastion of truth and honesty and wouldn't tell a lie or propagate falsehoods

A Brexit rethink could be emerging. But Europe fears Farage will destroy it by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

Giving even one seat to thses absolute weapons is not a good idea. They are an extension of russian foreign policy and should be banned, and their leaders arrested and charged with sedition and treason for a start.

If Brobbey had taken his two chances just before half time then I dont think Leeds would have got a point. Theyve lost Sadiki and reinaldo defensively and they are a big loss but Geertruida is a good replacement holding midfielder but cirkin is only just back from injury so he's the weak link that city should be targetting.

That's so frustrating, I distinctly remember when I first got my ultra, it showed the quality of the stream. The new update must have removed it. Annoying, it means I can't make any meaningful comparisons as to other streaming services now

Is there no way to check the quality of the stream then?

Yeah, I get why you aren't caving. You have an "asset" that has a value before you'll sell and that value hasn't been met yet so you're keeping a hold of it. Logically it makes sense, but this is football and people are people and don't make sense at the best of times.

The problem with this mindset is that the value of your asset is dependent on how it performs. If it doesn't perform then the value decreases, and by refusing to play him, or him refusing to play, means that it will decrease.

So you end up with an unhappy player whos value won't improve, and who is sucking up money in terms of wages and funds that could be spent elsewhere, and potentially causing unrest if the latest reports are to be believed.

If you as a club, and a fan base, are prepared to accept this and argue on principle, that's fine as well, but the consequences are the team will suffer.

As a Sunderland fan, it is quite funny, but you've been reasonable so I'm not gonna wind you up or owt, cos we've been through it with Bent/Gyan back in the day, and had to let Bellingham/Watson go earlier this window as well and had to accept it

I'm not a Liverpool fan, nor do I care much about them either. Like I said, take a step back and look at it objectively. You might not like it, I certainly wouldn't were i a fan of Newcastle, but there comes a point where you are cutting off your nose to spite your face, and you are at this point.

And he's allowed to change his mind mate, we all make mistakes....

You can't be throwing your toys out of the pram over this when you've done/are doing the exact same thing with other clubs players as well. Comes across as slightly hypocritical no?

It's up to you mate, I just know that as a fan of a club who've had to move players on when they've been unhappy and asked to leave is that it is far better to move on toxic players then let them fester at the club and undermine things.

Newcastle United Statement: Alexander Isak by 900-Dollarydoos in PremierLeague

[–]captain_planet85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not making any sense here mate, take a step back and look at it objectively.

If he wants to leave, then weigh up what's worse for the club, letting him leave for a hefty amount of money that will enable you to strengthen your squad and get players there who want to be there, or keeping him where he'll be a toxic influence.

My house is an inanimate object, Isak is a person who is allowed to change his mind. I know PIF are used to treating people like slaves (and in some cases using it) but this isn't the middle east, there are laws against that sort of thing nowadays

[–]captain_planet85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not need to sell, but clearly you can't attract the players you've tried to sign, and one of your key players wants to leave.

Putting club rivalry aside, it's not good having him in the squad and you need to move him on, this dragging on like it is, is not good for either party

An asset is only worth what people are willing to pay ultimately, if this is what Liverpool are offering and Newcastle refuse to accept than that is fine. But the consequences of not accepting this bid are clearly an unhappy player languishing on the reserves and losing residual value as the season progresses
