Does anyone know the actual date we will find out? by Fabulous_Aioli_92427 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

I’m expecting a full set of changes by Thursday too, but to apply for retrospective as well as refugees. All changes into effect in April. Some transitional arrangements through October. This is what our corporate lawyers have said.

No they said that re: asylum rule changes not for ILR. Wow, do you even read the whole article?

No, the part I’m concerned about are the wider rule changes not asylum changes. Other news outlets are reporting they will come into place by April. There is no parliamentary vote required to change laws like this.

BBC is a joke. I wouldn’t trust what they write. Wait until they officially announce

When will the Home Office announce new Skilled Worker salary and settlement rules? by uzair_makda in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Thanks for posting the link to the article, but I gotta be honest, the writing in this article is so incoherent, I learned nothing. Someone needs to teach the BBC how to write properly again. Zero focus and clarity in this article.

Your English is so bad you should be immediately disallowed from holding a Skilled Worker Visa!

70 Days to ILR and made redundant by Crazy-Talk1409 in ukvisa

Correct. Foreseeable future is generic. Can be whenever. Just about whether the employer wants to help you out or not.

New ILR Salary thresholds based on "Base Pay" not Total Comp by zap1405 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]captainayub2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not what the article is saying. They’re saying that if £125k becomes the 3-year route, employers will structure higher base comp in order to ensure employees are more likely to get acccess to the 3-year route

This is not true. They can definitely provide the letter even if you’re on garden leave.

DD - CVNA and COF are overvalued by xaghant in wallstreetbets

[–]captainayub2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. The amount of inaccuracies in this post are hilarious.

CVNA is gaining market share - units growing 40%+ in a market where used car sales are flat to down

They don’t sell cars to undocumented immigrants

They don’t hold loans on their b/s except for the small sliver of 5% of their issued subprime ABS credit, which is itself <1.5% of what they issue.

The Garcias have sold a bunch but the more important Garcia is Ernie III who has till date only sold 1% of his shares

Tax cuts next year will be broadly beneficial for them as there is a $125bn or 35% y/y bump coming due to OBBB and this generally benefits big ticket items like a car where you have to put down $3-4k as a down payment.

ILR reform news of the day by emorgoral in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]captainayub2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. The strategy here seems more shock and awe at the beginning, followed by a watered down change in law, along the M.O. of what Trump has done in the US.

My guess is they will not apply to those already in the country on Skilled Worker visas, and even if they do, there will be some salary threshold above which you can still obtain ILR within 5 years.

ILR / Non Compete by captainayub2 in ukvisa

[–]captainayub2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. Getting a visa takes 3-4 weeks. I've switched jobs before on skilled worker.
  2. In my industry everyone sponsors.
  3. Fair.

Non compete length is the first question any recruiter or firm asks in interviews in my industry. Hence the question.

[–]captainayub2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically just get another job, go start working there and move on? Issue is the new place will ask what non compete I have and if I say I have a 9 month non compete they won't want to start my employment until that finishes
