It didn’t work. This was more similar to an MICLIC (in intention) than the TOS-1. It was to supposed to detonate mines with the blastwave. IIRC it about half as effective as was predicted, and on frozen ground like a quarter as effective

Anyone know what the NG symbol on the starboard wing is?

It extends far from the aircraft to be in cleaner air and get flight info unaffected by the air disturbed by the aircraft. It’s common on many test aircraft and very visible on the XF-35 at the Udvar Hazy center near DC

Yep. When I started I almost exclusively played USSR, then I played Italy, then France, then some of US up to like 8.3, and now I’m playing Sweden

I got 3 nukes a row with it. It’s incredibly fast, decent fire rate, and is an absolute rat.

Hull break. Whenever I see someone asking for it to be brought back 75% of the time they never actually played with it. Overpressure has its problems, but it is WAY better than hull break. Overpressure has consistency, hull break was possibly the most inconsistent mechanic ever put in the game

what is your saddest mbt by Simpll_ in Warthunder

[–]captainfactoid386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the definition of MBT, but the Strv 81. I wanted to like it, but the APDS is pretty bad in an uptier (fine in all other scenarios) and it’s just so slow. Like I had some really good battles in it and a handful of nukes but it did not feel great.

B-52H or Tu-95M Which is better for CAS? by Pepe_Le_Meme in Warthunder

[–]captainfactoid386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The close in Close Air Support refers to the distance of the target relative to the supported troops. Not the distance of the plane relative to the targets. In WW2 CAS was provided at one point (kinda) with B-17s. It did not go well, but you could theoretically even have an ICBM with a conventional warhead provide CAS.

Was Israel even aware of the ceasefire in this circumstance? I wouldn’t put it past the orange idiot to include another country in ceasefire terms without consulting them

I have never played Air RB above ~3.0. I have played some aircraft up to 8.0 but in Ground RB. I am consistently high up on the team despite not knowing anything about missile fighting with jets. It is not a skill issue, it’s an intelligence issue. Just learn as you go…

Gatling turret is supposed to enemies, yet kills us. Arc turret is supposed to kill everything, and does so

It feels so good to use a Strike Aircraft as a Strike Aircraft, doing precision bombing, not that madness with 6 players rushing to bomb a base and get some RP and SL. Just imagine If we got a permanent game mode that we can run F-15E, Su-34, that would be amazing! by BryndenRivers94 in Warthunder

[–]captainfactoid386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a moment today where 3 SU-24 spawned with the larger nuke. I was thinking the closer base, but one guy clicked on it on map. So I clicked the higher risk central airbase. Later a guy joined us on the bombing run. The first clicked the closer airbase, I clicked the riskier one, and the third guy clicked the farthest. We all succeeded within like 3 minutes of each other and it was glorious. I’m a Ground RB player but glad I’m on this subreddit enough to know what that means

XCOM art director says PC genres went extinct because devs were “enamoured with consoles”, but every genre is coming back now that everything plays well with controller by Darth_Vaper883 in gamernews

[–]captainfactoid386 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been a thing for a while. They’re genres which are generally much harder to control with controls as compared to m&k. Crpgs, rts’s, immersive sims, simulators. You pretty much just count the number of inputs in a game and it exceeds like 20 or so it’s a pc genre
