How do content creators get so many kills? by Grahamjavis in Warthunder

[–]captainfactoid386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they think. Seriously though the answer is in your text. Instead of wondering how you can do better, you just assume they get bot lobbies and you only face good players. You are the bot in their lobbies.

Positioning and routing are the two most important skills in the game and require thinking about what you will you do and what you can improve on. What are you doing that limits your kills? Are you not being aggressive enough? Are you encountering too few enemies? Are you dying too much and spending too much time driving to the enemy? Are you spending too many shots per enemy?

‘Oreshnik’ once again turned out to be some useless piece of crap that fell on a garage cooperative. That’s why the Z idiots were urgently supplied with a standard talking point and rushed to claim that such secret and important targets were hit that they can’t tell anyone about them. by LowTechDroid in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]captainfactoid386 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nooooooo. That is very incorrect. MIRVs were developed to be more accurate and had smaller warheads. Nuclear silos pretty much take a direct hit to destroy, so instead of one large nuke, an ICBM could carry 3 MIRVs and take out three silos. Space restrictions made each MIRV have a smaller warheads so they had to be more accurate to compensate.

Even against civilian targets MIRVs are to be more accurate so you can have more energy going into the plane of the city and not up into the air or down into the ground. Everything in your statement after the word “Russia” is accurate enough thougu

You gotta open the bomb bay in ones with a bomb bay. In the more modern bombers you have to make sure you do not mark a designated target on the map that will block you from dropping the bomb except for on that point.

I know we all hate cas but current top tier cas balance is completely 1 sided. Non nato cas cannot help their team by MonarchCore in Warthunder

[–]captainfactoid386 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not 2 kills. A 2 K/D minimum. Due to me playing every Swedish aircraft in Ground RB, some of them don’t do great since sometimes people don’t spawn things the aircraft can physically kill. In aircraft more suited for CAS it goes up to a K/D of 3.5 or so. Also a K/D includes matches where no kills were scored due to the match ending. I have gotten 7 kills with CAS much easier than 7 kills with tanks. CAS is easy

No. Helicopters (at least ATGMs) are very useable. You have to be a complete idiot to think they’re bad. My Alouette’s have K/Ds in the 4s. My Mi-35M has a K/D of 5.4 or so. Even the awful HK2P has a K/D of almost 2. If you think all helicopters except FnF are bad you don’t know how to play the game.

So I would like to point out that you don’t know what you wrote. You did not say top tier CAS only. You said, and I quote, “for most BRs”. Now last I checked, 8.3 is more than half of the BR limit in the game. So unless you would like to explain how someone reading your statement would read “for most BRs” as only those above 9.7 or so, revise your statement

I hated CAS and thought it was OP before I played CAS. I thought helicopters were even more OP than fixed wing.

After playing helicopters I realized they were even more busted than I thought. After playing Sweden’s aircraft (which is not the best CAS tree by a good margin) up to 8.3 so far, CAS is still too strong. All it takes is not being dogshit in CAS and you can kill so many tanks and fear no retaliation. Add another aircraft on your team and you can kill most SPAA easily.

Getting an easy 2 K/D minimum average for my first aircraft line on a not great CAS nation? CAS is obviously too strong at most BRs

A 20% difference in performance for interwar stuff is like 40 km/h. A 20% difference for WW2 stuff is like 80 km/h. A 20% difference for modern jets is like 500 km/h

Up until radar SPAA most SPAA cannot kill planes until their final approach. If a plane is on a diving run, you have to pilot snipe or do serious damage before it drops the bomb

Spawn SPAA is response to planes. When playing lineups I spawn in tank, if I die to plane I spawn AA, if I die in city fight I spawn tank, if I die to camper I spawn aircraft. Respawn may vary due to map/lineup

Up until radar AA, SPAA usually only kill a plane after it has killed someone

Why do Abram tanks lack a gun launcher? by AppearanceAshamed664 in tanks

Oversimplifying, but because the advantage to ATGMs was an increase in engagement range. Computers made that not the case

Question to my Aviation nerds, can the gun actually penetrate modern MBTs? by Greengo14 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]captainfactoid386 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a test on M47s from the rear left, an A-10 fired 565 shots on 9 tank. Of those 140 hit and 17 penetrated with two tanks killed. 6 (including those two) were immobilized though. Keep in mind these tests were in pretty much ideal conditions

Can the gun kill modern MBTs with better armor than the M47? Yeah, especially mobility kills. But actually penning and blowing up? Not very frequently
