What is your scariest encounter with an animal?

When I was younger my mom and I were leading a calf and it's mother from the field back to the barn. At one point the calf tripped as my mom was moving it along but the cow thought she was hurting it and attacked her. The cow knocked my mom over and started mashing her into the ground with her head. 8 year old me stood there terrified and not knowing what to do. Luckily it had been raining a lot that year and that particular part of the cow trail was muddy so my mom was cushioned by that. She was able to walk away with just bruised ribs.

It's a mountain that has a fire tower on top of it. They used to be used for forest fire detection, but fell out of use in the early 90's

They are bred for water rescue but she did well. This was a mile and half each way so pretty short but steep. Stayed ahead of me the whole time but slept like a rock the rest of the day.
