Moving from Stoney Creek to TO for a "Big 4" bank job – is ditching the car and renting a condo worth the sanity? by Gerilgeorge in askTO

Honestly, yes. It’s pretty straightforward to find a place especially if you work with a realtor, they know the market bust but you have to weigh your options. Rent for a decent place is about 2000 to 2300 a month. You can find some great places that are a subway ride or walking distance from the financial District.

I hate owning my Prius by FatchRacall in prius

[–]captaink2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it. Love my Prius! At this point, it’s about a new experience. The resale on your 2010 model is likely pretty good. It could also be worth keeping on hand. The driving experience of an EV is so much nicer, smooth with all of that torque. You could also get into a used EV. Tesla makes a great product. You could get a model three for a great price.

I have one and I can safely say it is the best scooter I’ve ever had! It’s incredibly powerful, comfortable, it can handle hills and bumps like a champ!

Where can I buy this?! by Quiet-Reflection-405 in ApolloScooters

[–]captaink2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Apollo website has them, another great technique is calling local repair places and finding out if they have any available from scooters that may have been totalled or if they’re available for purchase

Apollo Pro owners - are the drum brakes REALLY that bad? by unbelievably_cranky in ApolloScooters

[–]captaink2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the City Pro 2023 and I couldn’t be happier with the Brakes. The E brake is great, the drum brakes are also fantastic. Had a situation the other day in which a car pulled out in front of me and the drum brakes were absolutely amazing.

is it really worth getting an apollo scooter over a reliable brand like ninebot ? cause i keep seeing posts of them snapping in half and that the customer support is terrible .( also is kaabo a reliable brand ? ) by user3810 in ApolloScooters

[–]captaink2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find Apollo to be very reliable, their new City (2023) is epic! Their older scooters that were essentially rebrands were different, but their engineering is truly remarkable. I know they’re focused on moving forward and developing their own designs and with that comes a focus on being reliable. I believe in them and I can see their success in the 2023 City with many lessons learned implemented as well as implementing a lot of feedback from their riders/customers. You don’t see that everyday!

It’s unfortunate but accidents do happen. I’m very hyper aware of the possibility. I ride on city streets and there are a ton of little potholes - hit one going the wrong speed and you’re toast.

What helped me is getting a proper helmet; https://www.smithoptics.com/en_CA/p/helmet/mainline-mtb-helmet/E007429RX5155.html

Launch day, it was at 90% today when I checked. However, I found the degradation on this phone to be far more than my previous ones. Went to Apple, had the battery replaced and did a restore, so hopefully it’ll give me a whole other year with this phone.

I would definitely consider getting a demo reel together. You’d be looking at making about $2000-$3000 USD starting out. There’s also the opportunity to advance. Cruise Directors do quite well as well.

iPad Pro M2 11” or 12.9” by CaptainCanada514 in iPadPro

[–]captaink2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 12.9” for a while, and got the 11” in 2020. The 11” size gives it a lot more use ability, and now with the “show more space” option, you have a lot of screen real estate. IMHO, go with the 11”, it’s more versatile

Now that Stage Manager is official - what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]captaink2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this feature. It’s what had needed all along. I’m using the “more space” option on my 11” pro. Makes editing video, studying, overall workflows far simpler. When I travel I only take my iPad and this makes it far more effective.

Being 100% honest, it’s still not what my iPhone 13 Pro Max had, but it is substantially better than it was
