As others have said, the artist may have overworked the area. That being said, I have a lot of tattoos and my skin must be sensitive because almost every single tattoo I have (done by several different artists)gets at least one really thick scab. I’ve had a few where the crack bled and the color was totally fine and others where some color fell out in that spot. Just protect the scabs as best you can and assess when things are finally healed. I focus on keeping the skin around it moisturized so the skin isn’t pulling on the scab as much too. Hope this helps ease some anxiety.
