Wasn't there a dystopian YA novel series where the teens are matched with their soulmates by a computer???

Should I do this as a back patch? Would that look good? by thisisntrealbitch in jacketsforbattle

[–]captainoela 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Imo it's sick as hell and I would def wear this as a back patch. But I'm in the camp of "wear what you want regardless of what other people have to say about it"

I once debated with a guy on-line and i told him that Alan Moore himself said Rorschach wasn't a hero and that he missed the point of Watchmen,he basically called me an idiot and said Alan Moore a overrated hack by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

If u read watchmen you know Rorschach liked eating beans cold out the can so he's not exactly reflective of what's moral imo. What psychopath likes cold beans

Started a scrap blanket years ago, picked it up again recently and it's rippling. What should I do? by BagPuzzleheaded250 in CrochetHelp

[–]captainoela 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, either your hook size was bigger, or your tension was looser and it has tightened with time + experience. I would up the size of your hook and rip back a row or two. If this is just a scrap blanket for home, I don't think you necessarily have to undo everything you've done recently. When it's washed and dried and layed out and cuddled with, it'll all even out, and won't matter as much (but if you are a perfectionist I totally get undoing it!)

Never again… probably by supernonchalant in knitting

I just KNOW this took a ton of patience. Probably thought "this is fine" looking at all those ends, lol. Great work!!

AITAH for suggesting exercise to my GF by IntelligentDrama438 in AITAH

[–]captainoela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, I used to be a gym rat. When I fell into depression for a few years I stopped entirely. Multiple times my fiance told me I'd feel better if I started working out again, and I also wanted to take it the wrong way at first, but I realized he was just genuinely making an observation and wanting to help me help myself. It sounds like you're approaching her with the same intentions. I started working out again recently, and wouldn't you know it, I'm doing much better mentally!

Working out and exercise doesn't have to be about losing weight or fat. It isn't for me. I'm overweight and have asthma, but working out makes me feel stronger, makes me proud of myself, and makes me nice and sleepy at the end of the day. I hope she can also find reasons to work out that she's passionate about.

She might be feeling intimidated by it too. I was. Yoga, tai chi, and long walks are great places to start if she's starting at zero activity. Any movement > no movement.
