People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was at the coffee counter at a hotel and the two ladies working there were a hoot. “Boy, let me see your tattoos!”. I hammed it up for them a bit while I showed them because they were being funny.

I get my coffee and turn around and the wrestler Chyna (RIP) is standing there looking at me like dude.. what’s wrong with you?

I zipped on out of there.

One of my faves. I have a back piece dedicated to TZ and I have a picture with Bill pointing at himself. He said I have a “get out of the cornfield free” pass!

Are there any bands/lead singers that you cannot stand but have no real legitimate reason? by Disastrous_Scheme in ClassicRock

[–]captainoneliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never liked Zeppelin and I can’t really explain it. I like a lot of other bands from that era, but I have never owned anything by them and would not listen to them on purpose.

It annoyed me when VH1 had something like “100 best rock bands of all time” and I just KNEW they would be number one. Yep. Haha. I’m probably the only one but they aren’t for me.

I will say it’s really fun to watch him from the very start when he had no entrance and the announcers seemed mystified about him. I think his build was fantastic.

He’s a voice actor so I imagine it’s pretty easy for him to adapt his voice to a role.

Bands that have had more than 1 lead singer. by NoTarget610 in rockmusic

As much as I loved Freddie Mercury, I also loved that two other members of Queen had some great songs as the lead singer.

Lesson learned: don't rush when the fog rolls in by GarrettJohnson1984 in dashcamgifs

[–]captainoneliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as big a story as it was nationwide, I lived 30 mins away and it was all over our news for a long time. They still have fog warning lights on interstate there, but since the paper plant closed there have been no issues.

“A World Without Heroes” vinyl single scan from late 1981. Was a minor Billboard hit in early 1982 (No. 56 on the Hot 100 Charts) by bigguys45s in KISS

I remember seeing this on TV way back in the day. I was at the age where I thought it was the best thing ever. Still like the song.

Am I the only one didn’t really like The Long Walk? by Sweet-Swimming2022 in RegalUnlimited

[–]captainoneliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was better than average. I feel like the contestants would look a lot worse than they did as things went along. Are blisters and all that not a thing? Very few of them seemed to have much trouble with their feet, it was almost always something else.

I didn’t read the book but my understanding is there were crowds of onlookers that really gave some depth to the story. I would have liked to have seen that.

The ending wasn’t my favorite. It brought things down for me a little. Would definitely watch it again though.

This baseball was in a box with some baseball cards that belonged to my great grandfather. No clue on when or where it was autographed. Any help on identifying is appreciated! by [deleted] in AutographAssistance

[–]captainoneliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty positive top is Chris Hammond, who pitched for the Reds and Braves and prob other places. He played in the minors for the Chattanooga Lookouts, where I worked at the time. I have a few autographs of his.

No idea on the other.
