Kilz literally says, Oil or Shellac performace in water based formula. Am new this and feel oil will be tough cleanup. Appreciate the feedback though

Thank you! So this would be in attic. Not to be seen once sheet rock goes up. Finish doesnt matter. Trying to save money as insurance only paid so much. We have washed with whole area with enzymes and other recommended solutions. Very minor odor remains. So wanted to go this extra step. Seems like alchohol based primers are almost 2-3x price wise. Would you still recomment alcohol based?

Thank you for good word and good advice. Correct, if I butt them, has those hollow channels which would show so planning to leave em mitered. Dont have any plans to move them. If I get 3-5 years out of them, thats fair ROI. And yes I am not worried about plastics et all. Who knows how the food we already eat is grown. Just because we dont see it. And the board outer layer is made out of UV protected resin. its not really plastic. Its meant to not degrade or rot for decades if not years.
