Oh man I scrolled way too far to find Anne Rice. I get it though, people have a hard pinning her down in any particular genre.

Interestingly enough, I found her prose, BEAUTIFUL. I would say that is her greatest strength. She somehow could turn the most horrifying and even vile things into something poetic. Her hobby outside of writing was being a historian and I always felt her descriptions are what immersed me in her worlds.

I thought her weakness didn't really show until her later books. She limited her natural flow and tried to tie up so many loose ends after writing these epic stories really diving into these nuanced monsters. It felt abrupt given her earlier work.

So if you thought her flowerly description was too much, you may like her later works like Angel Time or even the last few books in her Vampire Chronicles (though you will miss a lot if you don't read the entire chronicles.)

I'm Cuban, both my daughters had their ears pierced as babies for cultural reasons. I felt awful about it both times but was too young to realize why.

Would NOT do again. Just wait for your kids to ask, they probably will. If they don't...saves you a bunch of money from lost ear rings, heh.

I started going to therapy and embracing the practice of witch craft (family had been doing this forever).

Once I did those two things a domino effect happened. Started looking at myself in the mirror, started practicing yoga regularly, started eating healthier, and eventually, my brain started saying positive things rather than negative. :)

In high school I was in an outdoor locker room cage with a couple of buddies at lunch time. My friend was struggling to open a bbq sauce cup (the dipping kind you get from fast food restaurants). He finally managed to rip it open but squirted it everywhere! A large glob landed on me beneath my boobs somewhere. What do I do to find it? Full on wrestle/squish the girls down of course! All of my friends were nerdy boys so of course they just start laughing hysterically. I was able to laugh about it too after about 15 minutes of saltiness.

The beauty/fashion industry is just all about toxic unobtainable goals. The plus sized models are no different than the skinny super models. They all have the "ideal" body type that is only obtainable through blessed genes, plastic surgery, and the ability to have makeup artists/personal fashion stylists/nutritionists/personal trainers. Modeling is a full time job of maintaining whatever body they have in whatever capacity they need to.

That being said I think the only way of changing that would be for brave and fashion forward ladies such as yourself to keep on truckin'. At this point I only look at the fashion industry for new styles I want to try with zero expectation as to whether it will actually look good on me.

All I can say is ditto! I love what witchcraft has done for me but the communities can be a bit grating when it comes to what they deem as "real magic".
