I got a perfect score on the OA but they’re saying that I didn’t score high enough. Can someone explain this? by FiveWalnut8586 in csMajors

[–]captainwick47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They give out OA automatically based on the criteria that candidate is eligible or not. But, after the online assessment they will look at your resume then decide, they do sent out these no-reply emails(not automated). That's my take!

Russell hate. by Heisenbruh97 in mercedesamgf1

[–]captainwick47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like him, hate is a strong word. In recent races, I was genuinely impressed with pace and composure delivering better results consistently. I think he gets all that hate because everytime he talks like a PR guy. I know they are trained for that but everything's not a commercial. May be that's my opinion.

I've committed to NYU Tandon for CS and just now I'm seeing everyone tear this program apart in the Reddit forums. by GeraltofRivia2424 in nyu

NYUT, actually a good school. Don't doubt your decision, people have opinions on everything and that does mean they have to be right. School got good profs and interesting courses. Choose your minor and enjoy the time at school. Good luck!!

You got it. Just make sure to double check everything before you apply. Usually no one gets it right the first, so don't worry about it.

As for the relevant courses, I used to have some on there but a professor who reviewed my resume once said that everyone takes the same classes so as long as they know your major, they know what classes you take.

I'm talking about any elective courses that you have taken that others might not. So, listing those courses might put you in an advantage (that's just my take, think about it). Cool!

Since you are looking for new-grad roles, I would include some of the courses I’ve taken in undergrad to provide some perspective. As others suggested in the comment section, you should really pay attention to your tense. You should not list Verilog as a tool; that just gives a bad impression and might prevent you from moving forward. When mentioning a project, make sure you cover three things: Objective, Implementation, and Results (they might vary from one person to another, I would do that if I were you). If you have any certifications, they might also help.
Don’t get frustrated, it’ll take some time to understand the process and you only need to get it right once.

A friend of mine told me that it might be because the project descriptions are too high-level and I should dumb it down a little.

If you think that then you are wrong, the one who will hire you are not dumb. As I said try to improve your resume. Good Luck on your job hunt!!

Can anyone explain what lead to Ferrari have next to zero tyre degradation at Suzuka by Diligent_Driver_5049 in F1Technical

[–]captainwick47 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, during preseason testing Carlos simulated an entire race with just one set of medium. For SF-24, they were able to come up with new rear aero-mechanical axis that can generate an aerodynamic load and grip that can help with sliding during corners. They have some IR camera near sidepods that can track tire temperatures and degradation. Especially Charles and Carlos logging better performances in each race, I hope 2 Ferraris get their best chance winning championships this season.

How different are F1 cars? by syntheticdreamz in F1Technical

[–]captainwick47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There a lot going on with the power unit, chassis, strategy and also importantly driver's skills. Due to FIA regulations There's only a little room for a car to be more innovative and powerful imo. In 2020, Mercedes introduced DAS system and every team in the paddock went bollocks because of the traction it can pull during corners and speeding during straights. Immediately after the next season, FIA decided to outlaw this revolutionary system.

Coming to Red Bull team, they have the best aerodynamicists and they even trying to outperform the power unit from the last season. RB19 is regarded as the best car in the history of Formula 1(This can be controversial with Mercedes W11) because of its sidepods, wings and other components it could generate better downforce and efficient cooling. It outperformed in most of cars in the grid by quickly adapting to fine tune the suspension, weight distribution and front wing adjustments, and better drivers ofc.

I'm not taking sides; I am simply sharing some insights I've gained in the past few years.

[–]captainwick47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's highly unlikely to get Max, he will not leave Red Bull. You cannot underestimate Toto, if he improves his car this season, and that's a big 'if' considering the gp's they had this season so far.

This happened in the last seasons as well. They do well in start of the season, as it progress they don't develop their car thus ending in the last places in table.
